If Darth Vader were to own a Rolls-Royce, it’ll probably look something like this

The world’s best-known luxury car marque has taken on a whole new image, aimed at the self-empowered and self-confident, uncompromising and unapologetic

Imagine Darth Vader bought a Rolls-Royce, personalised it, and lent it to you for a test drive.

The Peak magazine’s motoring journalist Glen Watson enjoyed just such an experience with the latest Rolls-Royce Wraith and Ghost Black Badge models, unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and presented to its owner in Hong Kong, during the Lunar New Year.

The deep black on the Black Badge models was achieved by applying multiple layers of paint and lacquer. Rolls claims is was the most exacting paint and polishing process ever used for a solid paint colour.

Inside, customers can commission anything they like, such as works of art, to span the entire width of the dashboard, arguably the ultimate in personalised touch.

“Rolls-Royce Black Badge speaks to the darker, more assertive, confident and demanding aesthetic of a new breed of Rolls-Royce customer – today’s generation of young, self-empowered, self-confident rule-breakers who are uncompromising and unapologetic in their choice of living and lifestyle,” says Paul Harris, regional director for Rolls-Royce in Asia Pacific.

Henry Royce and Charles Rolls would surely approve of the both the looks and the force.
