Rolex showcases the history of its divers’ watches at Hong Kong International Airport
“The Quest for the Deep” exhibition, which explores the history of Rolex’s divers’ watches, takes place at Hong Kong International Airport until the end of July.
The exhibition showcases the Rolex Sea-Dweller, the Deepsea and other famous divers’ watches. The exhibition is organised by Rolex and its Hong Kong retailer, Dickson Watch & Jewellery.
Consisting of three parts – Deep, Deeper, the Deepest – the exhibition tells the story since the 1920s through illustrated panels and interactive displays presented in a structure inspired by the links of a Rolex Oyster bracelet.
From Rolex Submariner, the first watch that was water resistant to 100 metres, to Rolex Deepsea, the ultimate divers’ watch, that was water resistant to 3,900 metres, the brand has supported underwater exploration by keeping track of the immersion time and pushing the boundaries of the depth and length of time that humans can survive underwater.
The exhibition is open to the public at the Rolex Icon Store in Terminal 1.
