The newly opened Arbor offers guests this Christmas a French fine-dining experience with a creative “Finnish touch”. Finnish chef de cuisine Eric Räty takes us to his beautiful homeland via French cooking techniques and premium ingredients sourced mainly from Japan, including marbled Waygu beef, king crab, sea urchin, and seasonal fruits like Dekopon oranges and Amaou strawberries. An eight-course dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day costs

Aqua

Specialist meat house Blue is bringing protein lovers a warm holiday season menu (HK$550 per person). Offerings include house-made corn bread served with Canadian maple syrup or smoked paprika sour cream; free-range Hunter Valley turkey breast served with chimichurri or house-made gravy, sage stuffing, roasted-garlic mashed potatoes; Brussels sprouts with honey and chilli, and caramelised pineapple that includes pumpkin seed crumble and toffee pumpkin pie.

Immerse yourself in a classic European Christmas at Hugo’s this festive season. The venue is offering a Christmas Eve six-course menu (HK$1,980 per person) and a Christmas Day semi-buffet brunch (HK$998 for adult; HK$698 for child). The Christmas Eve meal includes dishes like pan-fried European pike perch with chervil root, marinated fennel, orange and saffron, and Irish dry-aged black Angus tenderloin and Spanish Carabineros prawns. Christmas Day brunch at Hugo’s features festive dishes like braised French rabbit leg, roasted French goose breast, roasted US prime rib of beef, and seafood including oysters, lobsters and crab legs.

A contemporary Chinese dining place celebrating the historical heritage of the Hung Hom area, Hung Tong, at Kerry Hotel, brings guests a Christmas menu on Christmas Eve as well as the big day itself. The meal (HK$888 per person) includes signature dishes like the braised bird’s nest soup with seafood in pumpkin soup, and braised fish maw and sea cucumber in abalone sauce. La Locanda at Ocean Terminal is sharing an Italian Christmas feast this winter. La China

La Chine in Macau specialises in French-influenced Chinese cuisine and is offering a seasonal lunch set and a dinner set on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Seasonal lunch set items range from pork dumplings with Alaska crab to wok-fried prime beef and crispy cumin lamb cutlets, while dinner dishes include steamed French blue lobster and fresh black truffle and shrimp mousse served with wok-fried Brussels sprouts. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day set lunch costs 488 patacas per person, and set dinner on both days costs 1,188 patacas per person.

Madame Ching

Star Street’s innovative Chinese restaurant offers a Christmas tasting menu on December 24 and 25. Ideal for the family, diners can except sharing plates of Amadai fish with braised aubergine and black beans, tuna poke and surf clams. The main event is roast duck and suckling pig and sides of lean beans and Brussels sprouts. For dessert, there is Yakult ice cream. The menu is ­HK$450 per person for the first sitting, and HK$580 per person, during the evening’s second sitting, with an extra HK$240 for ­

free-flow wine, Prosecco and beer.

McSorley’s Brewhouse & Grill

The Irish gastropub is offering guests a three- and four-course Christmas meal this season, offering aged prosciutto, goat’s cheese, fig and pecan salad as starter, and cream of chestnut and mushroom with truffle oil soup. For mains, guests can order roasted US turkey breast, US flank steak, or pistachio-crusted halibut fillet. And for dessert, there is a caramel cream cake, and a Christmas pudding with Baileys Irish cream custard. The three-course meal is priced at HK$398, and the four-course set at HK$438.

This SoHo meat lovers’ paradise is offering a five-course tasting menu on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day featuring their “small plates” of chicken liver pâté and octopus with bagna càuda and smoked paprika; and sharing plates of suckling pig with broccolini. There will also be roast turkey or roasted rib eye. Be sure to save room for dessert of chocolate fondant with caramel ice cream and popcorn. True to the Italian tradition of dining on fresh seafood the evening before Christmas, chef Luca Marinelli presents Osteria Marzia’s Feast of Seven Fishes on December 24. Guests will be presented with seven beautifully crafted dishes that highlight the culinary traditions of Italy’s coastal regions. The feast starts with sea bream carpaccio with blood orange, squid tartare with Sorrento lemon and also includes mussels marinara, Hokkaido king crab tagliolini and grouper puttanesca. Intended to be shared by groups, the feast is available for HK$688 per person.

Celebrating its first Christmas, Statement at the old Police Officer’s Mess in Tai Kwun offers modern British fare. For Christmas, it is serving traditional festive treats from December 16 to Boxing Day. The menu features whole roast British turkey with all the trimmings, including goose fat roasted potatoes, buttered heritage carrots, Brussel sprouts roasted with chestnuts and braised red cabbage – all served with turkey gravy, bread sauce and cranberry sauce. Dessert is home-made Christmas pudding with brandy butter. The five-course meal is HK$888 per person.
