The best is yet to come for the company that pioneered Taiwan’s light-emitting diode (LED) industry.

From a humble manufacturer of traditional LED lamps, Bright LED Electronics (BRTLED) grew dramatically as its innovations opened up many applications for its products.

Today, original equipment manufacturers trust BRTLED’s infrared emitting and sensing devices and other state-of-the-art LED devices to manufacture many products, from smart vehicles and mobile phones to civil security systems and other consumer electronics. The excitement continues as BRTLED unravels more uses for its LED technologies.

“We are focusing our future direction on new businesses,” says Sandy Liaw, founder and president of BRTLED. “We are looking at all possible applications for our optoelectronic technologies, from personal wearable devices and medical x-rays to agriculture and intelligent home lighting systems.”

Such innovative spirit is driven by a research and development team comprising more than 30 doctors and specialists. This department alone gets an annual budget equivalent to 2.5 per cent of overall revenues. BRTLED, meanwhile, ensures the reliability of its products with its strict quality assurance system compliant with ISO 9001 and ISO 14000.

Present in the United States, Europe and Asia, the company is expanding its geographical and product coverage. To this end, BRTLED welcomes local agents who are close to the market and know where to find potential customers. This is especially true in mainland China, where the company has been present with two subsidiaries since 1990. It is supplying about 70 per cent of LED-related components for mobile phones, besides other devices.

“Clients choose us because we exhibit the highest process capability and offer highly competitive prices,” Liaw says. “Coupled with our sincere customer service, working with us always means heftier profits and brisker business growth for clients.”
