Renowned for being a genuine and trusted name in rubber injection moulding, Corbas-based REP International has set its eyes on building a comprehensive foothold in Asia in line with its international growth strategy.

"We see great opportunities for growth in Asia, particularly in China and India, where there is a shift in focus from quantity to quality," says CEO Bruno Tabar. "We help local manufacturers automate their processes to improve product quality, as well as increase productivity and efficiency."

REP has made sizeable investments in the region, including production units in India run by REP Machines India, and in China under United Rubber & Plastic Machinery (Langfang).

With quality-minded partners, REP has ventured into local manufacturing to meet emerging market requirements for high-performance machines and just-in-time services at competitive price points. The French company also continues to nurture a 10-year strategic alliance with Taiwan's Tung Yu Hydraulic Machinery that has allowed it to penetrate markets such as Japan, China and Southeast Asia.

The company's product focus is on hi-tech vertical and horizontal rubber injection moulding machines, but REP is also known for making composite moulding presses and custom-built rubber machines.

Its recent notable offerings include TurboCure, a revolutionary approach to reducing cure time by up to 50 per cent, and a dual-compound compact multistation moulding machine for large productions. REP is also advancing commercialisation of the high-shear mixing devulcanisation technology, which is a green rubber recycling process.

Celebrating more than 100 years of innovation, REP has built a global organisation with a network of eight subsidiaries and 30 agencies to guarantee strong local technical and marketing presence. To date, it supports 11,000 injection moulding machines installed in 57 countries to serve clients in the automotive, electrical appliance, medical, food and leisure industries.

"We strive to stay close to our customers because our success depends on the satisfaction of their needs," Tabar says.
