Since developing Japan’s first rotary press in 1906, Tokyo Kikai Seisakusho (TKS) has remained at the forefront of innovations in the printing machinery industry. Unwavering to its bedrock principle of “customers come first”, TKS has responded to evolving market requirements armed by a tradition of engineering excellence spanning over a century.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company has produced many ground-breaking printing systems, including its latest offerings, the JETLEADER 2000 and 1500 digital presses.

“The development of JETLEADER represents our strong commitment to the global printing industry, which is undergoing a fundamental change with the advent of mobile and digital platforms,” says Masahiko Kibune, managing director general. “We aim to bring the JETLEADER series to more markets, especially in China and across Asia, to help publishers boost profitability by enabling them to do semi-commercial jobs, niche printed products and shorter runs.”

Equipped with drop-on-demand inkjet printing technology and unique in-line finishing capabilities, JETLEADER digital presses have the flexibility to print broadsheet and tabloid products, as well as variable-sized speciality products such as posters, pamphlets, magazines, books and flyers. The easy-to-use JETLEADER has also been engineered with systems to reduce environmental impact and minimise electricity use.

JETLEADER broadens the company’s comprehensive line of newspaper and commercial web offset presses, automatic labour-saving systems and peripheral equipment. Known for delivering high-speed, durable solutions that produce outstanding quality prints, TKS has a growing client base of newspaper and printing companies in Japan, the United States, China, South Korea, Thailand and India. TKS now targets to bolster marketing of its digital presses in Asia and is keen on partnering with Hong Kong-based distributors with a solid track record.

“We’re determined to work even harder for quality and engineering excellence to shine through every TKS machine,” Kibune says. “We will continue to expand our technological skills to satisfy the needs of our customers in these changing times.”
