Powerpipe Systems warms up for Asia's growing district heating market

As extreme weather conditions heightened by climate change usher in the need for increased energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions, the global market for district heating and cooling (DHC) systems is forecast to grow steadily over the next few years. As extreme weather conditions heightened by climate change usher in the need for increased energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions, the global market for district heating and cooling (DHC) systems is forecast to grow steadily over the next few years. Powerpipe Systems, a Nordic leader in the development, manufacturing and distribution of pre-insulated pipes and components, brings 30 years of reliability and Swedish expertise in DHC systems to the growing markets of Asia-Pacific.

"We keep the promises we make - this is the key to our success," says marketing director Ulf Andreasson. "We are fast, accurate, flexible and service-minded in our supply and delivery of products since everybody works under one roof. Other competitors may have larger production facilities, but their logistics system isn't as flexible as ours."

A dynamic company focused on delivering the 'total product' in terms of quality, technical support, product education, and reduced environmental impact, Powerpipe offers pre-insulated pipe systems with low installation and running costs. The company also supplies the components necessary to build a district heating pipeline from A to B with an emphasis on premium raw materials.

Such materials include German steel for core pipelines, plastic casing from leading polyethylene producer Borealis and plastic joints from Denmark.

Beginning with China, one of the major markets for DHC systems in Asia-Pacific, Powerpipe welcomes opportunities for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships with key players in the region who may benefit from the company's thought leadership in the DHC industry.

"We at Powerpipe know what we are doing, and our tenure has secured our position in Europe as one of the best-known brands in this industry," Andreasson says. "There will be a huge growth in Asia over the next five to 10 years, and we need a new challenge that will push us to increase our market share."
