Having built a strong and trusted reputation in insurance and reinsurance in more than 145 countries, Sirius International Insurance Corp has extensive capacity to adapt its expertise to meet the varying demands of clients from different cultural backgrounds.

Sirius International credits this success to its people who are committed to providing clients personalised service.

"We bring on board all the right people. They have the knowledge and understanding of the market and company culture to consistently deliver quality service," says Sirius International president and CEO Monica Cramer Manhem.

Established in 1945 in Stockholm, Sirius International specialises in most classes of non-life reinsurance and international health and travel insurance. It also covers property, aviation, marine and contingency insurance.

As a medium-sized company, Sirius International prides itself on its agility in responding to service requirements.

One of its strengths is local knowledge with a global reach through its network of offices established in Belgium, Bermuda, Britain, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore and the United States. It is through this strategy that Sirius International has built its competence in different markets. Along with close collaboration directly with clients, Sirius International also works with broking companies globally to reach its wide client network.

Sirius International aims to broaden its international scope, particularly in Asia and China, where it sees immense potential. The company is in a prime position to further access business through future synergies as the Sirius Group stands to be acquired by CM International, the Singapore-based arm of China Minsheng Investment (CMI).

With the acquisition, Sirius International will be combining its solid financial strength with that of CMI's to gain greater traction in the region.

"Sirius International is a long-term player. We have historically achieved very good results and we have an excellent reputation," Cramer Manhem says. "Together with our new owner, Sirius International will offer more opportunities in insurance and reinsurance in an exciting and developing marketplace."
