Ingenious ideas start with a spark; great innovations begin with the right set of tools and machinery. For industry leaders whose ideas shape industries the world over, this means making no compromises on quality while maximising value for money.

Understanding such a philosophy has made Luna Verktyg & Maskin the partner of choice - from supplying hand tools, measurement, compressed air and heavy equipment to training clients how to combine theory, practice and product knowledge. Built over nearly a century, Luna's portfolio of more than 38,000 tools and machines ensures that every specification has a matching solution.

"Beyond providing the hardware, we support clients with the resources needed to take total responsibility for their machinery," says Ulf Carlsson, managing director. "We are involved in all phases, from purchase to service and repairs."

Most products are designed in-house in collaboration with Luna engineers, consultants and suppliers. A supplier network of about 500 companies and partnerships dating as far back as 30 years complements the company's expertise in information technology and logistics.

These combined strengths enable Luna to catalogue thousands of products on its multilingual online shop for retailers and deliver most of them within 24 hours. While products are categorised under various quality levels and price points, each undergoes strict quality control and laboratory tests.

Nearly 95 per cent of Luna's operations are focused on business-to-business clients. About 40 per cent of all products are sold under its own proprietary brands - Luna, Limit, Ferax and Teng Tools, which the company bought from a long-standing supplier in Taiwan.

"Teng Tools embodies our promise of constant development and deep commitment to boosting innovation through our products and services," Carlsson says. "Such commitment includes constantly developing concepts and products - and reaching emerging and evolving markets such as Asia and China - through new supply and distribution partners with whom we aim to grow for the next 100 years."
