Typhoon Mangkhut: runners volunteer to clear trails with help of AFCD and Trail Running Association of Hong Kong

There is still debris on many of the trails but the running community has been working hard with the government to remove fallen trees

Trail runners have been giving up their time to restore Hong Kong’s country parks to their former glory after Typhoon Mangkhut knocked down trees over all over the city.

The trail clean-ups have been organised by the Agriculture, Fishery and Conservation Department (AFCD) and the Trail Running Association of Hong Kong (TRAHK).

TRAHK is a relatively new organisation made up of race organisers and runners, but since its inception they have worked closely with different bodies to improve trail management, leverage the enthusiastic trail community for projects like conservation and liaise with other sporting bodies to bring trail runners to the trail running world championships.
