Recap by phillip woo

Happy Sebring came from last at the head of the straight after jumping slowly to just out-bob Vincy for the win. He certainly has an engine but has a very bad tendency of missing the kick. Vincy was just out-dashed after settling one from the back. He's not easy to get right but has bobbed up for minor placings in three of 10 runs this term. Smiling Pride stayed on well following a midfield run to finish a close third. He's run well in backto- back runs following leg issues in March and can climb higher off his current mark. Cordyceps rushed forward to lead 1,250m, fought back to reclaim the front 100m out when headed by Buddies passing the 300m and was swamped late. Lucky Time had his chance following a prominent run. He has struggled this season in this grade. Arcada held his ground following a midfield run. He's more effective at the Valley. Buddies peaked on his run 150m out after assuming the front 280m out tracking the leader.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (816) - CONTENTMENT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters

BEAUTY DAY was withdrawn on 12.7.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right front capped elbow) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter GENERAL DINO (M L Yeung).

Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY DAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On arrival at the Start, G van Niekerk expressed concern regarding the action of RIGHT HONOURABLE in that the horse appeared restricted in its action.

A veterinary examination of RIGHT HONOURABLE could not detect any obvious abnormalities.

As G van Niekerk was not comfortable to ride RIGHT HONOURABLE, that horse was withdrawn from the race by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, RIGHT HONOURABLE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HAPPY SEBRING was slow to begin.

SMILING PRIDE shifted in at the start and bumped MARQULA.

From wide barriers, SARRI and EVER LAUGH were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When being ridden along aggressively to obtain the lead, CORDYCEPS shifted out abruptly near the 1500 Metres and bumped heavily with LUCKY TIME which was being shifted in from a wide barrier.

This resulted in both horses becoming badly unbalanced.

Passing the 250 Metres, CORDYCEPS and BUDDIES raced tight.

Then approaching the 200 Metres, CORDYCEPS shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of BUDDIES, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

After passing the 200 Metres, BUDDIES and LUCKY TIME raced tight due to both horses shifting ground.

Near the 100 Metres, LUCKY TIME shifted in and bumped BUDDIES which was awkwardly placed outside the heels of CORDYCEPS which shifted out.

A veterinary inspection of BUDDIES and SARRI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CORDYCEPS, HAPPY SEBRING and VINCY were sent for sampling.
