Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (322) - CAUSEWAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
BEAUTY SPARK shifted out at the start and bumped VICTORY POWER.
SPECIAL STARS, HAPPY WARRIOR, FAIRY TWINS and SHANGHAI MASTER were all steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
When being steadied to obtain cover after the 1100 Metres, BLOTTING PAPER travelled keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions.
AURORA PEGASUS (Z Purton) was held up for clear running from passing the 300 Metres until near the 200 Metres.
AURORA PEGASUS then raced tight inside BEAUTY SPARK until near the 150 Metres.
As Z Purton pulled his whip into his right hand after the 150 Metres, he dropped his right rein which he was unable to regather prior to the end of the race.
Close to the finishing line, AURORA PEGASUS raced tight inside BEAUTY SPARK which got its head on the side and lay in away from VICTORY POWER.
A veterinary inspection of SPECIAL STARS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AURORA PEGASUS, BABY and VICTORY POWER were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:

Races 3 - 9 were each put back 5 minutes.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 5 January 2020 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of TRUST ME, PRESIDENT'S CHOICE, EVER STRONG, EXCEL DELIGHT, UTOPIA LIFE, BALTIC WHISPER, KA YING MASTER, SUPREME WITNESS, SEIZE THE SPIRIT, WILL POWER, DOLLAR REWARD, CHEERFUL STAR, GOD OF DRAGON, ENCORE BOY, MEGA HEART, STAR OF YUEN LONG, NOBLE STEED, MONICA, CHEFANO, RELIABLE TEAM, BEAUTY LEGACY and HAPPY FUN revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of RICH AND LUCKY, KING DRAGON, MASTER BERNINI, KEEP WINNING, SUPER RED DRAGON, FORTUNE BRILLIANT, HERO STAR, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU, CLEAR CHOICE, BEST ALLIANCE, SHINING GEM, BALTIC SUCCESS, MIGHTY GIANT, FANTASTIC SHOW, THANKS FOREVER, BIG PARTY, BIG TIME BABY, EVERYONE'S JOY, FALCON TURBO, MONGOLIAN KING, GLORIOUS ARTIST, ELUSIVE STATE, RIGHTEOUS DOCTRINE, LAST KINGDOM and TRAVEL FIRST (29.12.19) proved negative.

Baby just out-battled the late-punted Victory Power over the final 50m following a perfectly- executed run one-off in fourth from a wide gate. He's won two of five starts this term but there weren't too many chances in this particular race. Victory Power ran on well to just miss following a rail run behind midfield. It was a fine effort up in grade off a light weight. Beauty Spark kept on well for a placing following a box-seat run. He's starting to come around in his five starts but was suited by the 10-pound claimer's allowance. Even money favourite Aurora Pegasus quickly blew up 100m out after finally getting a clear run passing the 200m following a rail run better than midfield. It was a disappointing effort after winning his past three starts. Happy Warrior ran on without menacing from near last. It was another honest effort. Mr Picasso kept on evenly following a oneoff run in midfield. He's just not good enough in this grade.
