Hong Kong Win was much too good after hitting the front 250m out following a one-out, one-back run to win in a class record time. He relished a return to his favourite Valley 1,000m and there's likely more to come. G Unit stuck on well to grab second approaching the 100m following a box-seat run. Harmony And Rich closed well from midfield to make it close for second. He's made a good impression in both starts and will be saluting shortly. Favourite Flying Genius didn't have much left in the tank 100m out after working hard to lead 750m out and with Heart Conquered keeping up the pressure to his outside. Heart Conquered did himself no favours attacking the leader carrying top weight. He did well to place on debut at Sha Tin and won't lose any admirers after a tough run here. The Runner ran on all right after saving ground worse than midfield on the fence. It was an improved effort at his sixth start but he's likely to need more time.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (340) - CONNAUGHT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters

After being loaded into the barriers, ALLIED AGILITY became very fractious, got down on its knees and got its head down under the front gates, resulting in M Chadwick being dislodged.

ALLIED AGILITY was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion the horse was not suitable to race.

Accordingly, ALLIED AGILITY was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, ALLIED AGILITY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

THE RUNNER began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped G UNIT.

THE WEATHERMAN and MASSIVE POCKET bumped at the start.

Then from the outside barriers, THE WEATHERMAN, MASSIVE POCKET and BEAUT BEAUT were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

UNIQUE TREASURE made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly, got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in THE WEATHERMAN and MASSIE POCKET being hampered and taken wider.

At the entrance to the Straight, JUMBO HAPPINESS shifted out and bumped UNIQUE TREASURE.

Near the 150 Metres, UNIQUE TREASURE was shifted out away from the heels of JUMBO HAPPINESS which lay out.

A veterinary inspection of MASSIVE POCKET, FLYING GENIUS and UNIQUE TREASURE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

FLYING GENIUS, HONG KONG WIN and G UNIT were sent for sampling.
