Newcomer Wellington drew clear after hitting the front 250m out following a threedeep run at times in midfield from a wide gate to land a betting plunge. Favourite Ping Hai Bravo closed well from behind midfield to finish a clear-cut second. He's a winner waiting to happen after making a solid impression in both runs. Punted late, Ka Ying Excellent finished well to grab a placing passing the 50m after being held up for a run until the 250m following a box-seat run. Colonel gradually faded after dictating the run. He's still learning and may be better suited taking cover. Hero Star only plodded following a one-out, one-back run. He struck a few too smart. Curling Luxury stayed on all right after a deep run without cover behind midfield. He's hard to get right and is better suited at the Valley or on the dirt. Ardenode made some ground without menacing from the back. It was his best run to date following a downgrade.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (365) - PROSPERITY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

BLINK OF A SECOND was crowded for room on jumping between KA YING BRILLIANT which shifted out and HERO STAR which began awkwardly and shifted in.

LUCKY VICTOR shifted out at the start and bumped WOOD ON FIRE.

From the outside barrier, WOOD ON FIRE was then steadied and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

LUCKY VICTOR was also steadied in the early stages, however, throughout the race travelled wide and without cover.

From a wide barrier, ARDENODE was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

After the 850 Metres, CURLING LUXURY was left racing wide and without cover.

KA YING EXCELLENT was held up for clear running from on straightening until after the 300 Metres.

Near the 150 Metres, DECISIVE ACTION was steadied away from the heels of ARDENODE which lay out under pressure.

After the race, Z Purton stated that HARMONY N HOME did not feel comfortable in its action and hung out rounding the Home Turn.

He said after being placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight, HARMONY N HOME's action continued to deteriorate.

A veterinary inspection of HARMONY N HOME immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

Before being allowed to race again, HARMONY N HOME will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of ERA KING immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, ERA KING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After the race, it was reported that PING HAI BRAVO had blood at the left nostril.

It was noted that PING HAI BRAVO had an abrasion at the left nostril and a subsequent endoscopic examination found that horse not to have bled.

WELLINGTON and PING HAI BRAVO were sent for sampling.
