Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late Sumstreetsumwhere closed nicely to grab victory 120m out after peeling into the open three deep for a clear run from behind midfield at the 600m. David Hall's done a terrific job to turn his campaign around in his past two starts. So We Joy finished well travelling one-off worse than midfield to grab second in deep stretch. Golden Mission stayed on well for a placing following a prominent run. He's building towards a win. Super Red Dragon ran on steadily to finish a non-threatening fourth after a wide without cover run in midfield. He's honest but has trouble winning. Dream Warriors stayed on all right travelling effectively one-out, one-back. He's better at a mile and doesn't have points in hand off his current mark. Favourite Armor Star did have to work to lead at the 950m from Manna From Heaven and had little left in the tank 100m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (815) - BIG PROFIT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

As the start was effected, APOLAR WARRIOR lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently began very awkwardly.

APOLAR WARRIOR then shifted out abruptly, resulting in its rider, K C Leung, being dislodged.

Having regard to the manner in which APOLAR WARRIOR began, the Stewards ruled that that horse must undertake a satisfactory stalls test before being allowed to race again.

K C Leung was subsequently examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.

UNIVERSAL CROWN shifted out at the start and bumped SO WE JOY.

From wide barriers, KA FORTUNE, TRIUMPHANT HORSE and GENERAL DINO were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the 1100 Metres, GOLDEN MISSION was shifted out to allow the riderless APOLAR WARRIOR to progress through on its inside.

ARMOR STAR was also shifted out passing the 1000 Metres for the same reason.

Passing the 700 Metres, SO WE JOY commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER RED DRAGON.

At the entrance to the Straight, SUPER RED DRAGON shifted out and made contact with SUMSTREETSUMWHERE.

SO WE JOY was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

A veterinary inspection of ARMOR STAR immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

A veterinary inspection of UNIVERSAL CROWN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ARMOR STAR, SUMSTREETSUMWHERE and SO WE JOY were sent for sampling.
