Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (82) - MUI WO HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
BLAZING BEAT began awkwardly.
TEMPLE OF HEAVEN shifted in at the start and made contact with NOBLE STEED which in turn shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of TRUE LEGEND which became unbalanced.
From wide barriers, GREAT TREASURE, GUY DRAGON and ROMANTIC COMBO were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 1100 Metres, TOYCOON and PEACH BLOSSOMS raced tight.
At the 500 Metres, LEAP OF FAITH was brushed by PRINCE OF BON BON which lay out.
PEACH BLOSSOMS hung in in the early part of the Straight and passing the 300 Metres shifted in, requiring its rider to stop riding and correct his mount.
After this, PEACH BLOSSOMS continued to hang in and proved difficult to ride.
After the 300 Metres, NOBLE STEED was shifted out a number of horses to obtain clear running.
Over the final 300 Metres, TOYCOON got its head on the side and lay out under pressure.
Throughout the race, BEAUTY SPIRIT travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.
A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
After the race, C Y Ho was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of GREAT TREASURE which he said did not close off today as it had in its previous starts this season.

When questioned, J Moreira (LEAP OF FAITH) stated that passing the 800 Metres he was following PRINCE OF BON BON which he did not anticipate would be able to take him into the race.
He said when that horse was travelling only fairly after the 800 Metres and the leader TRUE LEGEND was establishing a margin over the remainder of the field, he did not believe it was in the best interests of LEAP OF FAITH to continue racing behind PRINCE OF BON BON and for this reason he elected to shift out from behind that horse approaching the 700 Metres and commenced to improve its position forward of PRINCE OF BON BON passing the 600 Metres.
LEAP OF FAITH, TEMPLE OF HEAVEN and TRUE LEGEND were sent for sampling.

Temple Of Heaven just wore down True Legend in the final few strides for the win after getting a lovely run in the box-seat. It was a solid effort carrying top weight after catching the eye in his opening two runs and there's more to come from him. True Legend was just denied after straightening a length on top leading from the 1,200m. He's a progressive sort and had no issue with a step up to the 1,400m. Noble Steed worked home nicely to finish a close third after peeling into the open 200m out following a rail run five back. He's always a chance over this trip at this level. Alcari got going to fill the frame after a one-off run behind midfield. He's usually pretty honest over this trip and was fitter for a run. Favourite Leap Of Faith came up flat over the last 100m after looming a chance mid-straight following a one-out, one-back run. Romantic Combo came from last to just miss a payday. It was his bet run to date from four starts.
