Recap by phillip woo

Sensationally backed Elite Patch won eased down after cruising to the lead 200m out following a box-seat run. He did it in a slow time but was threatening to score in two earlier all-weather track runs this term. Deal Maker kept on well for second after dictating a slow pace in front from the widest gate. He's not genuine but is certainly capable of a big run on this surface. Clear Choice ran on from behind midfield to fill a placing. He's honest as the day is long on this surface. Red Elysees got up late for fourth following a one-off run in midfield. He's racing well without winning but is better on the turf. Early favourite Bear Slam came up one-paced when asked for an effort travelling better than midfield on the fence. He's not going well on either surface at the moment. Punted late, Right Choice was stopping 150m out after tracking a slow pace one-off the fence in second. He's struggling to recapture in his best form despite a downgrade.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (160) - SHEK UK SHAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters

BRAVE KING began only fairly.

MORE THAN A HORSE and PEACH BLOSSOMS bumped at the start.

ELITE PATCH shifted out at the start and bumped CLEAR CHOICE.

Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, RED ELYSEES was slow to muster speed.

After the 1500 Metres, ELITE PATCH, which was travelling keenly, was awkwardly placed behind DEAL MAKER.

After the 1200 Metres, DEAL MAKER became unbalanced of its own accord.

Making the turn near the 700 Metres, CLEAR CHOICE and NABOO STAR bumped.

Passing the 300 Metres, DEAL MAKER commenced to shift out under pressure.

When corrected by its rider, DEAL MAKER became unbalanced.

In the Straight, PEACH BLOSSOMS lay in towards the inside rail and proved difficult to ride.

After the race, K Teetan stated that MORE THAN A HORSE did not travel well at any stage of the race.

He said he had to continually ride the horse along throughout the race to maintain its position and after coming under heavy pressure at the 700 Metres did not finish off the race.

The performance of MORE THAN A HORSE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, MORE THAN A HORSE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of MORE THAN A HORSE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Also after the race, B Shinn stated that after beginning only fairly, NABOO STAR, which was having its first start on the All Weather surface tonight, was off the bridle after the 800 Metres when racing amongst runners.

He said the horse came under heavy pressure after the 700 Metres and then did not finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of NABOO STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ELITE PATCH and DEAL MAKER were sent for sampling.
