Healthy Happy had surged to the lead 250m out following a prominent run and fought back when headed for a stride or two by post-time favourite Band Of Brothers at the 100m to get the bob down for a second win from three starts. He's a nice type. Band Of Brothers just missed out after poking his head in front 100m out after a one-off run in midfield. He's as honest as the day is long. Beauty Smile ran on well to get the lip down for third after a wide with cover run behind midfield from a tricky gate. He's a winner waiting to happen. Winning Method ran on well near the outside to just miss a placing after a patient ride fourth last from a wide gate. He's capable but not reliable. Early favourite Ballistic King came up one-paced over the final 150m after a wide without cover run better than midfield the entire trip. He had an excuse. Beauty Legacy ran on late without menacing after biding his time second last following a tardy break.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (285) - BELLFLOWER HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters

After being loaded, CONQUEROR kicked out and got its right hind leg up on the running board momentarily.

CONQUEROR was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CONQUEROR.

Before being allowed to race again, CONQUEROR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

THINKIN' BIG began only fairly and then soon after the start lost ground when crowded for room inside ALPHA HEDGE which was taken in by KING OPIE which got its head on the side and shifted in on jumping.

BEAUTY LEGACY began only fairly.

From wide barriers, WINNING METHOD and INVINCIBLE MISSILE were shifted across behind runners soon after the start.

After travelling a short distance, BEAUTY SMILE was steadied when racing in restricted room between BAND OF BROTHERS and BALLISTIC KING.

C Soumillon (BALLISTIC KING) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after passing the 1200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of BAND OF BROTHERS, resulting in that horse being tightened onto KING OPIE which was checked.

When KING OPIE was checked, BEAUTY LEGACY, which was following, was checked away from the heels of that horse.

C Soumillon was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 10 January 2021 and to expire on Thursday, 14 January 2021 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

For some distance approaching the 900 Metres, BEAUTY LEGACY got its head up when racing keenly.

BALLISTIC KING travelled wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.

From the entrance to the Straight until after passing the 200 Metres, GOOD LUCK FRIEND was held up behind BEAUTY RUSH and UGLY WARRIOR.

At the entrance to the Straight, UGLY WARRIOR shifted out and made contact with HEALTHY HAPPY.

THINKIN' BIG had some difficulty obtaining clear running after the 300 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of GOOD LUCK FRIEND immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

HEALTHY HAPPY and BAND OF BROTHERS were sent for sampling.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Happy Valley Racemeeting on 16 December 2020 The Veterinary Surgeon reported that GREEN GENERATION had sustained an injury to the right front tendon after racing.

Before being allowed to race again, GREEN GENERATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of BUNDLE OF DELIGHT, EXALTATION, MOMENTUM GALAXY, TELECOM PUMA, SMART COUSIN, GREAT SMART, A SMILE LIKE YOURS, NOBLE BIRTH, BRANDING POWER, V CHEVALIERS, HAPPY WIN WIN, DELIGHTFUL LAOS, THE ROCK, FLYING GENIUS, KURPANY, BABY and SCORES OF FUN revealed no apparent abnormality.
