Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late Daily Charm was too good after hitting the front 150m out following a oneout one-back run for a maiden win at his ninth start. He was perfectly positioned in a slowly run race with a return to the turf at only his third Class Five run. Punted late Tailor Made just got up for second ahead of the favourite Yes We Can after a rail run behind midfield. He was suited by a rise in trip and return to the turf at his second start in Class Five. Yes We Can made up heaps of ground near the outside to just miss second after making his run at the rear following a slow start. It was a solid effort in a race run to suit those up front. Circuit Number One kept on all right after having to work to eventually find the fence in front at the 900m from a wide gate. Like the latter, he's got a win in his sights. Smart Thinker stayed on without menacing after a wide with cover run behind midfield. He's hovering around the finish in each of his three turf runs from four starts this term.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (277) - TULIP HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters

REGENCY GEM was withdrawn on 19.12.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ENJOYABLE SUCCESS (M F Poon).

Before being allowed to race again, REGENCY GEM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SANGRIA and CENTENARY IBIS bumped at the start.

On jumping, JOY MASTER was crowded for room between CIRCUIT NUMBER ONE and FAIRY FLOSS, both of which shifted ground.

A short distance after the start, FAIRY FLOSS was steadied away from the heels of CIRCUIT NUMBER ONE (A Badel) which continued to shift in.

A Badel was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

From wide barriers, AMAZING AGILITY, SMART THINKER, ENJOYABLE SUCCESS and DRAGON COMMANDER were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Due to the slow pace in the early stages, JOY MASTER, when racing keenly, was checked away from the heels of SANGRIA at the 1400 Metres.

Also at the 1400 Metres, SMART THINKER got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of AMAZING AGILITY.

Due to the continuing slow pace, SANGRIA was very awkwardly placed behind DAILY CHARM approaching the turn near the 900 Metres and shifted out, resulting in AMAZING AGILITY being hampered and forced wider.

AMAZING AGILITY then raced wide and without cover throughout the middle stages.

A Badel (CIRCUIT NUMBER ONE) was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the 900 Metres, resulting in MANNA FROM HEAVEN being steadied when awkwardly placed near the heels of CENTENARY IBIS.

At the 850 Metres, ROCKET HAMMER was checked away from the heels of TAILOR MADE.

YES WE CAN, which was following, was inconvenienced.

Approaching the 600 Metres, FAIRY FLOSS, which was inclined to lay out for some distance, was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SANGRIA which improved to its outside.

A veterinary inspection of JOY MASTER immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of FAIRY FLOSS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

YES WE CAN, DAILY CHARM and TAILOR MADE were sent for sampling.
