Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (280) - HIBISCUS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
WINNING VOLATILITY was checked on jumping when crowded for room between GOLDIE FLANKER and HEY PAL which shifted out abruptly.
In this incident, WINNING VOLATILITY made contact with the hindquarters of GOLDIE FLANKER which became unbalanced.
From wide barriers, LUCKY DIAMOND, DEMONS ROCK and URBAN DANCER were all shifted across behind runners soon after the start.
Approaching the Home Turn, URBAN DANCER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JADE PHOENIX.
Approaching the 200 Metres, JADE PHOENIX was steadied away from the heels of RESOLUTE (C Soumillon) which shifted out when placed under pressure.
In this incident, C Soumillon momentarily dropped his right rein.
JADE PHOENIX was then directed back to the inside of RESOLUTE to continue improving.
C Soumillon was advised to make more of an effort to keep his mounts straight in similar circumstances.
Passing the 200 Metres, STAR SUPERIOR raced tight between URBAN DANCER and SUPER RED DRAGON which was inclined to lay in.
Throughout the race, RESOLUTE travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY TANGO and HEY PAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
JADE PHOENIX, DEMONS ROCK and RESOLUTE were sent for sampling.

Demons Rock quickened nicely to reel in Resolute in deep stretch after settling last to ring up a second win from his past four starts. It was his first win in the grade but he's really found his niche on this surface. Punted late Resolute kept on well for second after rushing to the front 300m out following a speed-duelling run three wide without cover. It was a return to form after disappointing without excuses twice. Favourite Jade Phoenix kept on a non-threatening third after checking off heels near the 100m following a prominent run. He's honest but proving costly. Urban Dancer ran on well from midfield to just miss a placing. It was his best run to date with a step back in distance at his second run in the grade. Super Red Dragon had his chance after a one-off trip in midfield but peaked on his move 100m out. He's more effective on the turf. Star Superior came up onepaced when asked for an effort following a rail run better than midfield.
