Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late, H Z Tourbillon responded nicely to win going away 100m out after a rail run behind midfield. He has the tools to head higher on this surface after failing to get involved in his debut last month on the dirt but it wasn't a strong race on paper. Odds-on favourite Wins All found had his chance following a prominent run on the fence but found a lightly raced type too good on this occasion. Gratwick wouldn't go down without a fight after getting his own way in front. It was clearly his best run to date following a 119-day break. Off The Reel made good ground near the outside from towards the rear to spice up the quartet. It was a much better performance second up over a longer trip. Steel Win stayed on all right after a wide without cover run fore of midfield. He was able to improve immensely on two prior starts at Sha Tin. Aca Power made some ground without menacing after settling five back and one the fence. It was a better run in an easier grade. Second favourite A La King came up flat when asked for an effort following a wide with cover run in midfield. He wasn't able to back up a debut win carrying top weight.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (509) - LANCASHIRE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

MELBOURNE HALL was crowded for room on jumping between ACA POWER and OFF THE REEL which shifted out after being bumped by GRATWICK.

From wide barriers, RED IMPACT and RAGING BLAZE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

GOOD LUCK MONEY commenced to travel keenly when being steadied to obtain cover approaching the first turn near the 1050 Metres.

Approaching the 600 Metres, ACA POWER commenced to travel keenly and making the turn after the 600 Metres got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of A LA KING.

This resulted in ACA POWER being steadied away from the heels of A LA KING approaching the 500 Metres.

After the 400 Metres, GOOD LUCK MONEY was steadied away from the heels of ORION PATCH which commenced to give ground.

GOOD LUCK MONEY then shifted in away from the heels of ORION PATCH, resulting in MELBOURNE HALL being crowded for room.

GOOD LUCK MONEY then became unbalanced at the entrance to the Straight when bumped on the hindquarters by MELBOURNE HALL.

In this incident, MELBOURNE HALL also became unbalanced after making contact with GOOD LUCK MONEY.

After this, ORION PATCH continued to give ground and finished tailed out.

A veterinary inspection of ORION PATCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of ORION PATCH was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, ORION PATCH will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Throughout the race, STEEL WIN travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, N Callan stated that although A LA KING travelled three wide throughout the race from a wide barrier, the horse was able to race with cover throughout.

He said A LA KING travelled satisfactorily in the early and middle stages and after being placed under heavy pressure after the 500 Metres finished off the race fairly.

He added A LA KING, which was having only its second race start, would benefit from tonight's race and he did suggest that the horse may appreciated a step-up in distance in its future race starts.

A veterinary inspection of A LA KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of MELBOURNE HALL and RAGING BLAZE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

H Z TOURBILLON and WINS ALL were sent for sampling.
