Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (303) - WILLOW HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Trainer P F Yiu was fined the sum of $3,000 for presenting DARCI JOY in the Parade Ring without a parade hood, part of that horse's declared gear.
AI ONE and SHANGHAI DRAGON bumped at the start.
AGILITY STAR shifted out at the start and bumped FULL POWER, resulting in AGILITY STAR becoming unbalanced.
From wide barriers, SMART PATCH and MURRAY'S PARTNERS were shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
At the entrance to the Straight, AGILITY STAR, which was giving ground, was bumped by SUPER HONG KONG which shifted out.
PAKISTAN FRIEND was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.
Passing the 400 Metres, MURRAY'S PARTNERS was shifted to the inside of SWOT TROOPERS WIND after being disappointed for running outside that horse and inside PAKISTAN FRIEND.
SMART PATCH had some difficulty obtaining clear running near the 200 Metres.
Approaching the 50 Metres, JOYFUL HEART raced tight inside AI ONE which shifted in under pressure.
After the race, H Bentley stated that SWOT TROOPERS WIND did not stretch out in the Home Straight when placed under pressure.
A veterinary inspection of SWOT TROOPERS WIND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, SWOT TROOPERS WIND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Also after the race, B Shinn stated that, in his opinion, AI ONE may be better suited in races coming back in distance at its future starts as the horse was disappointing when placed under pressure in the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of AI ONE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of JOYFUL HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DARCI JOY and RED ELYSEES were sent for sampling.

Darci Joy was too good after working to the lead 250m out after finding a perfect position on the fence better than midfield despite drawing widest out. He's really come into his own this season and can win again in the grade. Red Elysees came from last and widest out to snatch second. He's naturally returning to form and the old-timer can deliver a win shortly. Lucky Diamond made it close for second after biding his time one off the fence worse than midfield. It was another solid effort after winning twice and a third at the Valley this season. Super Hong Kong ran on well to nearly place after biding his time four back on the fence. He was able to step up off a light weight in this grade after a soft win in Class Five at the Valley. Shanghai Dragon held on for a minor slice of the prize money after finding the front along the fence 1,450m out. The quick early fractions took its toll in the end. Pakistan Friend was held up at times when trying to wind up in midfield. He should have finished a bit closer but wasn't going to catch the winner.
