Alcari wore down long-time leader Whizz Kid 30m out for the win after a handy run three off the grandstand side. He's really flying at the moment over the straight 1,000m. Firming to jumps the odds-on favourite Whizz Kid found one just too good after driving to the lead 850m out from a low draw. It was another fine effort carrying more weight following a win last start over the Valley 1,000m. Proud Dragon ran on well from midfield in the centre of the course to finish a close third. It was a good effort in his first run after bleeding in October. Resolute ran on from towards the rear to fill the frame without menacing the top three. It was a return to form after managing only a single placing from his past seven runs. United We Stand just held his ground after a prominent run near the stands side. He needed the run following a tendon injury in July. Lyrical Motion ran on without menacing from towards the rear. He's still acclimatising and likely requires a longer sprint trip. Newcomer Call Me Teddy just got by a few beaten rivals from towards the rear after a slow start. He needed the outing. New import King Land weakened after chasing the speed on the grandstand side. Like the latter, he was in need of the start.
