Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (18) - SHEK O HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
A Badel (PING HAI GALAXY) was fined $2,000 for initially presenting himself to be weighed out with the incorrect saddle cloth number.
SUPER BABY began only fairly and then was crowded for room on jumping inside MAGIC PHOENIX which was taken in by PING HAI GALAXY.
IGNITING began awkwardly and bumped the inside of its gate, resulting in the horse losing ground.
After being ridden along for a short distance, IGNITING was then shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
From the outside barriers, CELTIC TIMES and STOICISM were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After travelling a short distance, BEAUTY GLORY was steadied away from the heels of WINE AND WINE which shifted out.
At the 700 Metres, XPONENTIAL was left racing wide and without cover.
At the entrance to the Straight, SKY FOREVER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PING HAI GALAXY when being shifted to the inside of that horse which commenced to give ground.
SKY FOREVER was then held up for clear running until approaching the 200 Metres.
Passing the 300 Metres, BEAUTY GLORY and XPONENTIAL raced tight as BEAUTY GLORY shifted to the outside of MAGIC PHOENIX to obtain clear running.
NICCONI COUNTY was not able to obtain clear running until the concluding stages and accordingly was not able to be properly tested.
After the race, A Badel stated that after being ridden along in the early stages to obtain a forward position, PING HAI GALAXY travelled comfortably in the early stages and he felt that as he had not done too much work on the horse PING HAI GALAXY would finish the race off in the Straight.
He said however that PING HAI GALAXY came under heavy pressure passing the 400 Metres and then gave ground abruptly in the early part of the Straight to finish at the rear of the field.
A veterinary inspection of PING HAI GALAXY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of PING HAI GALAXY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, PING HAI GALAXY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of CELTIC TIMES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BEAUTY GLORY and IGNITING were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
After the running of Race 1, the track classification was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Firm?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 1 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm??
2.

Post-time favourite Beauty Glory got up 50m out after switching off heels for a clear run 250m out travelling midfield for a first success at his 11th start. He had been knocking on the door and can win again. Igniting flashed home late down the outside for second after a patient ride one from the rear. He's always a chance over this Valley trip. Five Elements stayed on well for a placing after a prominent run one off the fence. It was a good first effort over this course following a bleeding attack. Xponential ran on steadily for fourth after a wide run without cover better than midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over this trip. Stoicism made some ground without threatening travelling one off behind midfield. He can produce an odd good run in this grade but is a better prospect in Class Four. Wine And Wine was on his tippy toes 100m out after dictating the run from gate four. He needed the run. Early favourite Nicconi County was held up for a run along the inside after a handy run along the fence. He had an excuse. Sky Forever made a mild bid after getting held up early straight following a rails run in midfield.
