Recap by phillip woo

Outsider All Is Ready took a while to load into the barriers but kept on nicely after hitting the front 130m out for his maiden success on his eighth start. It was his best run to date, with a switch to the Valley for his second outing in Class Five. Flash Famous ran on nicely from midfield to finish a close second. He continues to knock on the door at this level. Specked late, Medic Elite surged between runners to fill a placing after rounding the final bend one off the rail slightly better than midfield. It was a vastly improved performance off a light weight on his 10th start. Handsome Veggie grudgingly gave way after getting pressured to his outside by Encore 700m out, dictating the run from his middle draw. It was a better effort following his change of tactics and rise in trip. Favourite Smiling Face ran on without threatening after his one-off trip behind midfield. He appeared to need the run. Sure Win Win made some headway from towards the rear. He remains off his top game of late. Jolly Honour made some ground from near last after his slow start. He had an excuse. Go Go Sixteen finished last after travelling awkwardly three wide behind midfield. He may have had equipment issues.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (47) - KENNEDY TOWN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters

ALL IS READY, which was difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again.

JOLLY HONOUR was slow to begin.

From the outside barriers, DAILY BEAUTY and ENCORE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After travelling a short distance, GO GO SIXTEEN shifted in and bumped FLASH FAMOUS.

Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, GO GO SIXTEEN was steadied away from the heels of BELL OF VICTORY which got its head on the side and shifted in away from ALL IS READY.

Also approaching the winning post on the first occasion, SURE WIN WIN was steadied after attempting to improve to the inside of SMILING FACE where there was insufficient room.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, GO GO SIXTEEN got its head up when crowded for room inside MEDIC ELITE (L Ferraris) which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the crowding to GO GO SIXTEEN.

L Ferraris was reprimanded for initially shifting in and crowding GO GO SIXTEEN.

After this, FLASH FAMOUS shifted away from the rail, resulting in GO GO SIXTEEN being taken wider.

GO GO SIXTEEN (K C Leung) was then left racing wide and without cover after the 1400 Metres and approaching the 1300 Metres raced tight outside SMILING FACE.

SURE WIN WIN, which was following SMILING FACE, was awkwardly placed behind that horse in consequence.

After the race, K C Leung reported that whilst his saddle shifted back marginally in the early stages, GO GO SIXTEEN, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley tonight, was inclined to lay out away from SMILING FACE and was reluctant to maintain its position outside that horse which resulted in the horse racing wide and without cover for the majority of the race.

Passing the 1000 Metres, ENCORE was shifted out from behind GO GO SIXTEEN and allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead approaching the 700 Metres.

Near the 700 Metres, FLASH FAMOUS raced wide and without cover.

After the 300 Metres, MEDIC ELITE was held up for clear running when improving into tight running between FLASH FAMOUS and FAITHFUL TRINITY which shifted out.

Near the 200 Metres, ENCORE, which was giving ground, shifted in marginally, resulting in DAILY BEAUTY, which was improving into tight running inside that horse, being taken in and causing SURE WIN WIN to become unbalanced when crowded for room outside BELL OF VICTORY which also became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by SURE WIN WIN.

Passing the 150 Metres, ENCORE, which was continuing to give ground, was eased away from the heels of FAITHFUL TRINITY which shifted in.

Passing the 50 Metres, DAILY BEAUTY was tightened for room between SURE WIN WIN and FAITHFUL TRINITY which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening to DAILY BEAUTY.

A veterinary inspection of GO GO SIXTEEN, FAITHFUL TRINITY and DAILY BEAUTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SMILING FACE, ALL IS READY and FLASH FAMOUS were sent for sampling.
