Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (240) - THE LONGINES HONG KONG CUP - Class G1 - 2000Meters
JACK D'OR shifted in at the start and bumped LEI PAPALE.
DANON THE KID began only fairly and was then awkwardly placed outside RUSSIAN EMPEROR which was bumped by MONEY CATCHER which shifted out.
GEOGLYPH lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and began awkwardly.
From wide barriers, SAVVY NINE and TOURBILLON DIAMOND were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
When being steadied passing the winning post on the first occasion, ROMANTIC WARRIOR commenced to travel keenly.
Then near the 1800 Metres, ROMANTIC WARRIOR, which was continuing to travel keenly, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of PANTHALASSA (Y Yoshida) which shifted in when not properly clear.
Y Yoshida was reprimanded.
Passing the 1700 Metres, MONEY CATCHER was awkwardly placed behind PANTHALASSA.
Passing the 1600 Metres, ROMANTIC WARRIOR, which was continuing to travel keenly, got its head up when awkwardly placed outside the heels of MONEY CATCHER which shifted out.
At the 400 Metres, GEOGLYPH was directed to the inside of JACK D'OR after initially attempting to improve to the outside of that horse which was being shifted out to obtain clear running.
The performance of SAVVY NINE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SAVVY NINE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of PANTHALASSA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ROMANTIC WARRIOR and DANON THE KID were sent for sampling.

Odds-on favourite Romantic Warrior quickened nicely to win going away 250m out after switching off nicely to travel forward of midfield from a tricky gate for a ninth win from 10 starts. He is a real superstar after demolishing a strong international field. Japanese challenger Danon The Kid ran a cracker to get up in deep stretch for second after biding his time three from the rear with late-market action. Money Catcher ran a blinder to finish next best after nearly drawing level for the front 300m out following a prominent run. Tourbillon Diamond came from last at the top of the straight to just edge Russian Emperor for fourth. He rarely produces a bad run and it was a solid effort from the widest gate. Russian Emperor ran on steadily to just miss the frame after a one-off run worse than midfield. It was his best effort this term but he requires a wet track. Japan raider Geoglyph ran on without threatening from behind midfield. Panthalassa did not have much in the run to the wire after working hard to lead 1,750m out after a tardy start.
