Favourite Fast Buck was too good after hitting the front 300m out tracking the speed one-off in third for a first win at his fourth start. He had been knocking on the door and got the race run to suit chasing a slow pace. Smiling Collector ran on nicely to take second in the final few metres after a patient ride fourth last near the inside. He was able to build on two earlier 1,400m starts this term. Holy Power stayed on well for third after a prominent run wide without cover. He was able to back up a smart debut win over 1,200m. War Weapon dashed well to fill the frame after a wide trip towards the rear from gate 10. He keeps promising without delivering. Let's Do It finished next best travelling wide with cover from midfield after having to steady off heels 900m out. He had an excuse and was carrying top weight. Sparky Star ran on late without menacing after biding his time fifth last from a wide draw. It was a typical effort. Function Patch came up one-paced after a handy run. He's still trying to find a bottom. Killer Instinct ran on without threatening ridden for luck from a wide draw.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (335) - NAM SANG WAI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

STARSHIP EIGHTY and ALL IS READY began only fairly.

FAST BUCK and MY INTELLIGENT bumped at the start.

On jumping, KILLER INSTINCT was crowded for room between WAR WEAPON and BAEBAE TSOI which shifted in.

After this, from wide barriers, WAR WEAPON and KILLER INSTINCT were shifted across behind runners.

Also from the outside barriers, SPARKY STAR and FLYING GALLOP were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When being shifted across behind runners, FLYING GALLOP became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of SPARKY STAR and after the 1200 Metres travelled keenly and proved very difficult to settle.

After the 1100 Metres, HOLY POWER was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 1000 Metres, LET'S DO IT commenced to travel keenly and shifted in abruptly away from the heels of HOLY POWER, resulting in ALL IS READY being crowded for room.

SMILING COLLECTOR and SPARKY STAR, which were following ALL IS READY and LET'S DO IT respectively, were hampered in consequence whilst WAR WEAPON, which was following SPARKY STAR, was also steadied away from the heels of that horse.

FLYING GALLOP, which was continuing to prove very difficult to settle, was checked away from the heels of SMILING COLLECTOR near the 900 Metres.

As SPARKY STAR improved into tight running between LET'S DO IT and ALL IS READY after the 500 Metres, SPARKY STAR was crowded between LET'S DO IT and ALL IS READY which at the same time shifted to the outside of FUNCTION PATCH to improve.

This resulted in SPARKY STAR and ALL IS READY racing tight for some distance inside LET'S DO IT which shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters by SPARKLY STAR and ALL IS READY being steadied away from the heels of FUNCTION PATCH passing the 400 Metres.

FLYING GALLOP lost its left front plate after the race.

The performances of GENEROUS FRIEND and BAEBAE TSOI, both of which finished tailed out, were considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, GENEROUS FRIEND and BAEBAE TSOI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of GENEROUS FRIEND, BAEBAE TSOI and MY INTELLIGENT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

FAST BUCK and SMILING COLLECTOR were sent for sampling.
