Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (489) - LUNG KONG HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters
From the outside barriers, FANTASTIC TREASURE and ATULLIBIGEAL were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 200 Metres, BOURBONAIRE was steadied when crowded by FANTASTIC TREASURE (K C Leung) which shifted to the inside of AMAZING VICTORY to secure clear running.
K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.
H Bentley (THE ROCK) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of THE GOLDEN SCENERY, resulting in that horse being unnecessarily crowded for room and losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled.
H Bentley was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 19 March 2023 and to expire on Thursday, 23 March 2023 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Bentley's good race riding record.
A veterinary inspection of MR ASCENDENCY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AMAZING VICTORY, CIRCUIT STELLAR and FANTASTIC TREASURE were sent for sampling.

Circuit Stellar kicked strongly when asked for more getting his own way in front from gate two to make it back-to-back wins following a riding change to Zac Purton. He continues to hold his form very well. Fantastic Treasure got up near the inside to grab second 60m out following a patient ride towards the rear. He relished a step back to 1,400m. Firming favourite Amazing Victory had every chance after a box seat run but it was another good effort despite a rise in class. The Golden Scenery ran on steadily from worse than midfield to fill the frame. It was another honest performance. Atullibigeal came from last down the outside to finish next best. It was a positive effort. Mr Ascendency weakened 100m out after a speed-tracking run. He's likely on his mark. Winner Method never menaced after making his run one from the rear. The Rock weakened 100m out after a prominent run with cover. He's itching for a downgrade. Bourbonaire found nothing after finding the fence from midfield. He's struggling to regain top form this season.
