Recap by phillip woo

Ace Talent just wore down long-time leader Super Axiom after a pace-stalking run for a first win at his 10th start. He had been knocking on the door in two prior starts. Super Axiom wouldn't go down without a fight after clearing to the lead from a tricky gate. He was well rated with a return to the course and distance. Oversubscribed ran on nicely near the inside from behind midfield to finish a close third while edging early favourite King Invincible for a spot in the Triple Trio. King Invincible ran on nicely with one wider out after settling one off worse than midfield to just miss a placing. He's made a good impression in both starts and it's only a matter of time before he salutes. Savvy Delight ran on reasonably well late down the outside after fading back from gate 12. He can get away with a race shortly in this class. Circuit Seven just held his ground after a prominent run along the fence as the late-fancied favourite. He has disappointed with only a second in November from 14 sprints this term. Amazing Rocky faded after working hard to track the speed from gate 11.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (611) - DAEGU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters

Whilst in the holding stalls, ACE TALENT kicked out and sustained an abrasion to the left hind fetlock.

ACE TALENT was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

TALENTS SUPREMO jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

GENEROUS FRIEND and KING INVINCIBLE jumped only fairly.

Near the 600 Metres, PACHISI and SAVVY DELIGHT (H Bowman) made contact due to SAVVY DELIGHT shifting in slightly.

As a result, SAVVY DELIGHT was then turned in towards PACHISI, resulting in PACHISI becoming unbalanced and having to be steadied.

H Bowman was advised to exercise more care.

When questioned regarding the performance of PACHISI, Z Purton stated that after being crowded shortly after the start between AMAZING ROCKY which shifted in slightly and MR MAJESTIC which shifted out, he then shifted his mount across behind runners in the early stages.

He added that near the 600 Metres PACHISI became unbalanced when bumped and crowded by SAVVY DELIGHT, but then once under pressure in the Straight PACHISI did not respond to his riding and was somewhat disappointing.

Trainer J Richards stated that he was satisfied with PACHISI leading into tonight's event and indicated that as PACHISI is a small horse in stature, it found it difficult to finish the race off after being crowded shortly after the start.

A veterinary inspection of PACHISI immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in its trachea and also found the horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

The performance of PACHISI was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, PACHISI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of AMAZING ROCKY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

CIRCUIT SEVEN, ACE TALENT and SUPER AXIOM were sent for sampling.
