Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (618) - FWD INSURANCE BOCOM HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
As the start was effected, SUPER FORTUNE reared and as a result lost ground.
LUCKY ARCHANGEL jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier.
NISHIKADO shifted out at the start and bumped PRINCE OF PORTY.
A short distance later, PRINCE OF PORTY was then momentarily crowded by NORTHERN BEACHES which shifted in and away from REWARD SMILE.
EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
In the early stages, BIG RED raced keenly and approaching the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied when racing tight to the inside of SUPREME LUCKY.
Approaching the 900 Metres, NISHIKADO commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied away from SHINING GEM.
SUPREME LUCKY raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
SUPERB BOY had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
After the race, Trainer W Y So reported that he had anticipated NORTHERN BEACHES to hold a forward position with cover, however, it was able to lead today when the expected leader of the event, SUPER FORTUNE, was slow to begin.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER FORTUNE, CAPITAL DELIGHT and LUCKY ARCHANGEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SHINING GEM, REWARD SMILE and PRINCE OF PORTY were sent for sampling.

Reward Smile out-duelled the favourite Prince Of Porty after poking his head in front 200m out following a one-out, one-back run for a smart debut win in Hong Kong. It was a very nice win and there's still improvement to come from the three-year-old. Prince Of Porty had his chance after a speed-chasing run from gate seven. It was still a good effort up in grade after winning his first two career starts. Punted late Supreme Lucky stayed on nicely for third after getting caught wide without cover from midfield. Local debutant Eighty Light Years ran on nicely to fourth after making his run wide towards the rear from gate 12. It was an eye-catching effort. Superb Boy made a steady bid from midfield. He's gone OK with a step up to 1,200m in his past two starts. Shining Gem made mild bid after settling one off from behind midfield. He's still struggling to find his feet this term. First-time local starter Capital Delight made some ground without menacing after a wide with cover run from behind midfield. He was in need of the run. Specked late, confirmed front runner Super Fortune cost himself after a slow start.
