Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (661) - MACAU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
FLYING ACE was crowded on jumping between BUNDLE OF CHARM and MERCHANT PRINCE, both of which shifted ground.
SOLID SHALAA shifted out at the start and bumped EXCELLENT FIGHTER.
THESIS jumped awkwardly and then from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When questioned regarding the performance of HAPPY GOLF, Z Purton stated that his intention was to obtain cover, however, when unable to do so, HAPPY GOLF raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages.
He added as a result when he placed his mount under full pressure in the Home Straight, HAPPY GOLF responded only fairly to his riding.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY GOLF immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HAPPY GOLF, WINNER METHOD and EXCELLENT FIGHTER were sent for sampling.

Winner Method stuck to the fence after hitting the front 350m out ridden prominent to salute for a fourth time in his career with a step back in distance aided by first-time blinkers. Punted late Excellent Fighter stayed on nicely to just take second after a handy run very wide without cover from an outside draw. It was another fine effort after winning his past two starts. Flying Ace ran on well from towards the rear to just miss second prize money. He ran well but was found wanting late in his first starts off a 206 days break. Excellent Daddy came from last and widest out to finish next best. It was his best run of the campaign but he likely appreciated the wet ground. Bundle Of Charm produced a grinding effort following a one off run from midfield. He prefers a faster track. Solid Shalaa made some ground without threatening after making his run three from the rear. He hasn't looked hopeless in his three local starts. Favourite Happy Golf weakened over the final 100m after chasing the speed one off in third. He was up in grade and may not have handled the testing ground.
