Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (684) - CORNFLOWER HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters
STRIVE FOR GLORY jumped only fairly.
SHINY TWO was slow to begin.
SIX BEST FRIENDS jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
THIS IS GUTS also jumped awkwardly.
From the outside barrier, HAR HAR AT HEART was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 600 Metres, JAZZ STEED shifted in and bumped STARRY NIGHT.
After the 500 Metres, SIX BEST FRIENDS lay out and as a result was steadied when awkwardly placed close to TREASURE OF FIELD.
Near the 150 Metres, STARRY NIGHT shifted out slightly and brushed GOODMANSHIP.
DRAGON KINGDOM was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
When questioned, Z Purton (TRONIC MIGHTY) stated that the intention was to hold a forward position, but after being badly crowded at the start between DRAGON KINGDOM and TREASURE OF FIELD, both of which shifted ground, his mount settled back in the field.
He added that after improving to the inside making the Home Turn, he then endeavoured to secure clear running over the final 150 Metres to the outside of GOODMANSHIP, however, when GOODMANSHIP shifted out, TRONIC MIGHTY was then placed in restricted room between GOODMANSHIP and JAZZ STEED and as a result he could not fully test his mount over that section of the race.
A veterinary inspection of DRAGON KINGDOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
TRONIC MIGHTY, STARRY NIGHT and STRIVE FOR GLORY were sent for sampling.

Starry Night just denied Strive For Glory to score a first win at his 15th start after getting a lovely run fourth on the fence. He had put the writing on the wall last start following a downgrade on dirt. Strive For Glory gave another cheeky sight after working to the lead 700m out. It was another good effort carrying top weight following a last-start win. Goodmanship plugged on gamely in a speed-chasing role to finish third without threatening the top two. He can get away with a race shortly in this grade. Jazz Steed plugged on all right for fourth after travelling effectively one-out, one-back. He prefers a faster surface. Favourite Tronic Mighty made good ground late to finish next best after making his run from third last after a tardy start. He had an excuse. Har Har At Heart ran on late without threatening after settling second last from the wide draw. He went a bit better following a downgrade. Treasure Of Field was yielding ground over the final 100m after getting caught wide from gate 11. Dragon Kingdom faded after chasing the speed wide without cover from a tricky gate.
