Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (6) - LIN FA SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
A Badel (NOBLE ONE), who weighed in at 118 lbs, was fined the sum of $3,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight.
KARMA blundered shortly after the start.
On jumping, CHAMPION METHOD was crowded by SPARKLING DOLPHIN which shifted out.
A short distance later, SUPER FAST DRAGON was then crowded between NOBLE ONE and CHAMPION METHOD which continued to be taken out by SPARKLING DOLPHIN.
RUBY SAILING and VALIANT ELEGANCE bumped at the start.
After being held up for clear running between the 150 Metres and the 100 Metres, TIMESTORM was then shifted to the inside of CHAMPION METHOD near the 100 Metres to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with VALIANT ELEGANCE.
After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong (KARMA) reported that his mount failed to travel strongly at any stage of the event and could offer no explanation for its performance.
A veterinary inspection of KARMA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, L Hewitson (SUPER FAST DRAGON) stated that his mount raced without cover and as a result did not finish the race off strongly.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER FAST DRAGON immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer?? A veterinary inspection of SPARKLING DOLPHIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CHAMPION METHOD and RUBY SAILING were sent for sampling.

Champion Method showed gate speed to eventually lead 500m out and fought back when headed by favourite Ruby Sailing 200m out to score inside the last 50m in a very smart debut performance. He's got the pedigree to head higher. Ruby Sailing just held on for second after claiming the lead 200m out following a pace-pressing run on the grandstand side. Timestorm just failed to get up for second after peeling off the heels of the top pair for a clear run near the 100m following a midfield run. He should have finished closer and can bob up at any moment off his current mark. Multidarling ran on steadily to just miss a placing travelling midfield in the centre of the track. It was a positive effort trying the straight 1,000m for the first time. Noble One just finished out of the frame after a handy run. He'll be one to keep safe if he opts to step out in Class Five next start. Valiant Elegance stayed on all right travelling better than midfield near the stand side. He's in the right grade but is more effective at the Valley.
