Race Seven : (72) - TAI SHUE WAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 RIGHTEOUS ARION (H059) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
When placed under pressure in the Home Straight lay in, resulting in its rider having to correct his mount near the 200 Metres.
Horse No 3 WATCH BUDDY (H185) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 COPARTNER AMBITION (E218) Z Purton Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 AFFIRM (H306) C L Chau A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 LEAN MASTER (H134) A Atzeni Near the 200 Metres was disappointed for clear running to the inside of MELBOURNE HALL and was shifted to that runner's outside to secure clear running.
Horse No 7 MELBOURNE HALL (D118) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla reported that his mount raced keenly in the middle stages and would not settle and as a result did not finish the race off well.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and got its head up when being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages.
Horse No 9 TELECOM SPIRIT (G310) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the left side of its barrier.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
At the 350 Metres was hampered when taken wider by RIGHTEOUS ARION which shifted out to improve.
Horse No 10 H Z TOURBILLON (E149) M Chadwick Blundered at the start and was crowded shortly after.
Was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages from a wide barrier.
Horse No 11 LYRICAL MOTION (G081) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly.
Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 MR MAJESTIC (G145) K Teetan When questioned, K Teetan stated that he was instructed to hold a forward position, but not to make use of his mount in the early stages.
He said from barrier 6 MR MAJESTIC jumped well, but was caught wide in the early stages.
He said having regard to his instructions and the genuine pace that the event was run at in the early stages, he was of the opinion that his mount would be best served by allowing MR MAJESTIC to settle in a three wide position rather than making use of his mount to endeavour to cross WATCH BUDDY which was positioned to his inside.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No UNISON (H423) H Bowman Was withdrawn on 3.10.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter AFFIRM.
Before being allowed to race again, UNISON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Post-time favourite Copartner Ambition, with blinkers reapplied, jumped alertly to lead from gate four and kept on gamely for his fourth victory from 31 starts. He deserved to win again following his solid 1,400m second last month. Lyrical Motion stayed on nicely to finish a close second. It was a solid run for his new trainer, Caspar Fownes, and he should be saluting soon. Early favourite Righteous Arion dashed well to fill a placing after making his run three from the rear. He is as honest as the day is long. Joy Coming got up for fourth without threatening the top three after his wide trip with cover forward of midfield. He ran well despite carrying six pounds more from gate 12 following his last-start win. H Z Tourbillon made good ground late near the inside to finish the next best. He is close to a bottom. Watch Buddy only plodded over the last 100m after his prominent run. He was first up carrying a heavy weight following his win in July. Telecom Spirit ran on without threatening the placegetters after making his run two from the rear. He might find 1,400m more to his liking.
