Recap by phillip woo

Well-backed Romantic Laos travelled better than midfield from the outside gate and reeled in Silver Sonic 150m out to get rookie trainer Cody Mo Wai-kit on the board with the first win of his career. It was the winner's best effort from three Class Threes after two Class Four victories. Silver Sonic hit the front 200m from the line following his prominent run on the fence but found one too good. It was another good run. Intrepid Winner ran on well from midfield to fill a placing. He returned to form for his new handler, Michael Chang Chun-wai, but he did not beat much of note. Brilliant Way handed up the lead to Chrysos in the early stages, chased the fast pace and held on well for fourth. It was a good run on his first attempt over 1,650m at Happy Valley. Favourite Royal Pride ran on all right from worse than midfield to finish the next best. He has performed OK in both of his starts this term. Maldives got going late but did not menace the placegetters. He rarely produces a bad run. Red Majesty disappointed his supporters after chasing the leading pair one off the fence. He did not build on his near miss last month.
