Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (76) - HANG HAU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 2 BEAUTYVERSE (H075) H Bowman H Bowman dropped his whip approaching the 200 Metres.
Horse No 3 ALL BEAUTY (E355) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly, shifted in and bumped IVY LEAGUE.
Horse No 4 CAPITAL LEGEND (G333) C Y Ho After the race, C Y Ho stated that after settling back in the field, when IVY LEAGUE started a forward move near the 800 Metres, his mount became held up behind BEAUTYVERSE and was unable to improve.
He added from the 700 Metres CAPITAL LEGEND was again held up until he shifted to the outside of BEAUTYVERSE approaching the 400 Metres to secure clear running.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 STAR CONTACT (E472) K Teetan Near the 250 Metres shifted out and away from WINNING DRAGON when that runner shifted out slightly.
After the race, K Teetan stated that his mount settled slightly further back than anticipated due to the early stages of the event being run inside standard.
He said STAR CONTACT travelled satisfactorily in the run, but finished the race off in a disappointing manner and he could offer no explanation as to why his mount did not run on.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) C L Chau Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly.
From the 550 Metres was held up for clear running and near the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between HIGH RISE SOLDIER which was giving ground and ALL BEAUTY which shifted in.
Horse No 8 IVY LEAGUE (H116) K De Melo Was bumped at the start.
Approaching the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and shifted to the outside of STAR CONTACT where it commenced a forward move.
Was sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 COMET SPLENDIDO (G071) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For a short distance near the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind BEAUTYVERSE.
Horse No 10 HIGH RISE SOLDIER (C511) H T Mo After the race, H T Mo stated that his mount travelled comfortably in a forward position, but when placed under pressure entering the Home Straight commenced to make an abnormal respiratory noise and gave ground from that point.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, HIGH RISE SOLDIER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Ivy League began his move three wide at the halfway mark, poked his head in front about 100m from the line and outfought long-time leader Tourbillon Prince to win. It was his first Hong Kong victory on his 12th local start, but he had put the writing on the wall in his three Happy Valley 1,650m runs spanning this season and last term. Punted late, Tourbillon Prince nearly made all after dictating affairs from gate one. He improved for switching from Sha Tin to Happy Valley. It was a good effort on his first start following throat surgery. Winning Dragon plodded after racing prominently, but his second run this season was better than his first. Comet Splendido came from last to finish the next best. He should be hard to beat if he finds his way into Class Four. Favourite Capital Legend ran on without threatening the placegetters after biding his time one from the rear. It was not a disastrous run, but he did not build on his runner-up effort last time. Star Contact kept on one-paced. He is on or near his mark. Jumbo Fortune failed to lift when push came to shove after racing prominently. He disappointed his fans again.
