Recap by phillip woo

Diamond Soars led from gate nine and kept finding to make it back-to-back victories despite returning to Class Four. Winning form is good form, and he was able to break through in the grade after 11 past losses. Happy United came to win the race 100m out but could not overtake the winner. It was a good effort on his first run over 1,000m, particularly because he raced wide without cover from barrier 12. Amazing Ace just missed second prize after getting the gun run from gate one. It was an improved effort following his downgrade. A Americ Te Specso ran on well down the outside for fourth after straightening one from the rear. He is in the right class but needs 1,200m. Telecom Spirit finished the next best, making good ground late near the inside after turning for home third last. It was one of his better runs from his 11 local starts. Early favourite Savvy Delight did not respond when Brenton Avdulla asked him for more following his one-out, one-back run. He may not have appreciated the rain-affected track. Gorgeous Vitality only held his ground after getting posted four wide without cover. He had an excuse.

He added that GORGEOUS VITALITY did not respond strongly to his riding in the Home Straight and after being bumped by A AMERIC TE SPECSO near the 50 Metres when that runner shifted in, his mount did not finish the race off strongly.
