Recap by phillip woo

Tattenham raced prominently on the fence and poked his head in front 50m from the line to record an upset win. He produced a vastly improved effort with his headgear removed on his first attempt over Happy Valley's 1,200m. Happy Trio found one too good after getting the perfect run from gate two. He is not far off a winning result. Sight Hero jumped out of his skin late to snatch third after making his run two from the rear. He is always a chance over this C&D. Punted late, Hero Star grudgingly gave way to just miss a placing after newcomer Double Win hounded him for the lead. It was a pleasing effort from barrier 12. Favourite Righteous Arron made some headway late near the outside to finish next the best after getting dragged back to have only three behind him rounding the final bend. The heavy weight and wet conditions likely played against him. Happy Soul only held his ground following his handy run. Joy Of Spring ran on from towards the rear without threatening the placegetters. He failed to build on his debut second but it is still early days for him.

He added that TATTENHAM performed well in this barrier trial and as a consequence tonight he instructed A Hamelin, from its inside barrier, to endeavour to obtain a forward position if possible which advantaged TATTENHAM tonight.
