Recap by phillip woo

Sight Success just got up in the final stride to upset odds-on favourite Lucky Sweynesse after settling one-out, one-back for a ninth career win at his 28th start. He's a very honest sprinter. Top-weighted Lucky Sweynesse lost the win when rider Zac Purton stopped riding to look around at a crucial stage 60m out after claiming the lead near the 200m following a pace-stalking role outside Victor The Winner. Nonetheless, Lucky Sweynesse will be hard to beat in the up-and-coming set weight contests. Duke Wai stayed on gamely for third after getting held up early straight from the box seat. He's honest as the day is long. Adios came from last to finish next best in the five-horse field. He continues to pick up good prize money for his connections. Punted late Victor The Winner led as expected but weakened over the final 100m. He travelled too keenly in the run. Stoltz was withdrawn at the gate by order of the stewards on veterinary advice.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (107) - THE PREMIER BOWL (HANDICAP) - Class G2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 LUCKY SWEYNESSE (G180) Z Purton When questioned, Z Purton stated that his mount lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.

He said over the final 150 Metres his mount came under pressure and shifted in towards VICTOR THE WINNER.

He added near the 75 Metres he received a call from K Teetan, the rider of VICTOR THE WINNER, and as a consequence he was obliged to stop riding and straighten his mount approaching the 50 Metres to avoid causing interference.

He further stated shortly after he was able to recommence riding LUCKY SWEYNESSE to the finish of the event although it continued to lay in to the winning post.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 SIGHT SUCCESS (D375) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 VICTOR THE WINNER (G404) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan reported that his mount travelled satisfactorily in the lead, but when asked for an effort in the Home Straight did not respond to his riding and performed in a disappointing manner.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 DUKE WAI (C188) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly.

After the 100 Metres improved into a narrow run between LUCKY SWEYNESSE and SIGHT SUCCESS and over the concluding stages raced tight between those runners when LUCKY SWEYNESSE shifted out when being corrected by its rider.

Horse No 5 STOLTZ (G147) L Hewitson On arrival at the barriers, L Hewitson expressed concern regarding the action of STOLTZ.

STOLTZ was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in its right front leg and as such was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, the horse was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, STOLTZ will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 6 ADIOS (G338) A Badel Approaching the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded between LUCKY SWEYNESSE and SIGHT SUCCESS which shifted out slightly when being crossed by VICTOR THE WINNER.
