Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Tomodachi Kokoroe drew clear upon straightening after assuming the lead 800m out from late-plunged Diamond Fare for a first win at his eighth local run. He relished the downgrade. Party Warrior came from last to snatch second from Lucky Planet. He's well rated and was fitter for two runs. Lucky Planet kept on well for a placing after recovering from a tardy start to travel box seat coming to the final bend. It was an improved effort trying the Valley 1,200m in first-time blinkers. Flaming Eagle stuck on all right after a handy run one off the fence. It was another honest run. Multidarling kept on one paced settling midfield on the fence. He's not easy to get right. Juneau Flash made some ground without menacing from towards the rear. He's produced mixed results in three starts this term. Lean Master just held his ground after a one-off run from midfield. He's still acclimatising. Golden Link was non-factor after dragged back in the run by the retreating and late-plunged Diamond Flare.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (124) - SHANTOU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 TOMODACHI KOKOROE (H303) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 JUNEAU FLASH (H084) B Avdulla Shortly after the start was crowded and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 3 PARTY WARRIOR (E368) L Hewitson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 GOLDEN LINK (D222) K C Leung After the race, K C Leung reported that when caught wide in the early stages, he elected to come back and take a trailing position behind DIAMOND FLARE near the 700 Metres.

He added after obtaining cover, DIAMOND FLARE then did not improve into the race which resulted in his mount being held up behind that runner until near the 350 Metres where he was able to commence to ride his mount along.

He further stated that in the Home Straight GOLDEN LINK finished the race off only fairly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 COMPASSION SUPER (G283) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 SEE U AGAIN (G247) L Ferraris From the 600 Metres was awkwardly positioned behind GOLDEN LINK until shifting to the outside of that runner near the 400 Metres to improve.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 FLASH POINT (H250) A Hamelin Slow to begin.

Near the 500 Metres was checked when crowded by JUNEAU FLASH which, after improving to the inside of GOLDEN LINK (K C Leung), was then taken in by that runner before being corrected by its rider.

K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.

In considering the action taken by the Stewards, they were mindful of the evidence of Jockey Hamelin who advised that FLASH POINT, which was having its first race start, had reacted badly to the crowding and this was, in his opinion, the principal reason for the severity of the interference.

The performance of FLASH POINT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, FLASH POINT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 LEAN MASTER (H134) A Atzeni In the middle stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 900 Metres was steadied when positioned tight to the inside of GOLDEN LINK.

Horse No 9 LUCKY PLANET (H235) K De Melo Slow to begin.

Horse No 10 DIAMOND FLARE (H224) Y L Chung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 12 MULTIDARLING (H148) H Bentley Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded shortly after.
