Race Seven : (125) - THE KWANGTUNG HANDICAP CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1000Meters
Horse No 2 MAJESTIC STAR (E203) A Atzeni Near the 500 Metres was crowded between REWARD SMILE and PING HAI GALAXY (B Avdulla) which shifted in after being checked.
B Avdulla was advised, wherever possible, he should exercise care in similar circumstances.
Horse No 3 PING HAI GALAXY (C377) B Avdulla Near the 550 Metres was checked when crowded between CARROLL STREET and WHIZZ KID which, after being steadied away from SEASONS WIT, shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider, K Teetan.
The racing manners of WHIZZ KID were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, WHIZZ KID will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 WHIZZ KID (E392) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
Over the final 100 Metres raced tight between KURPANY and CARROLL STREET, both of which shifted ground.
The racing manners of WHIZZ KID were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, WHIZZ KID will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial around a bend in Hong Kong.
Horse No 5 WE ARE HERO (G207) K C Leung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
At the 550 Metres was checked away from PING HAI GALAXY and made the turn wide.
Horse No 6 NERVOUS WITNESS (E421) L Hewitson A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 CARROLL STREET (D489) Y L Chung Shifted out at the 550 Metres.
Horse No 8 SEASONS WIT (H223) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 REWARD SMILE (H256) A Badel Near the 950 Metres was bumped by MAJESTIC STAR which was taken out by NERVOUS WITNESS.
For some distance after the 500 Metres raced tight to the inside of MAJESTIC STAR.

Favourite Seasons Wit went whoosh when asked for an effort to win going away 150m out after sitting on the back of the leading pair. He's now won four on the trot despite a rise in class and can win again. Reward Smile ran on well from behind midfield to grab second. The step back in distance was not an issue after placing in one of three 1,200m runs. Carroll Street ran on well for a placing after a prominent run wide without cover. It was his best effort from four runs over the Valley 1,000m. Majestic Star ran on nicely to just edge Whizz Kid for fourth despite getting shuffled back to last 500m out. It was a good run in defeat. Whizz Kid ran on steadily to finish next best after travelling keenly on the fence from midfield. He's honest but has trouble winning around his current mark. Kurpany was in retreat 100m out after vying for the lead with Nervous Witness carrying top weight. He had an excuse. Punted late Nervous Witness didn't offer much in the straight run after pressing forward to vie for the lead from gate five. He needed the run.
