Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (133) - FAT TSEUNG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 JOYFUL FRIENDSHIP (H295) H Bentley Blundered on jumping and became unbalanced.
Near the 350 Metres was briefly held up behind FREE FOAL.
Horse No 3 FREE FOAL (E065) L Ferraris Near the 350 Metres endeavoured to improve into a narrow run between ATOMIC BEAUTY and BIG TWO where there was doubtful room.
As a result, FREE FOAL was disappointed for clear running and badly held up until near the 250 Metres when it obtained a run to the inside of ATOMIC BEAUTY.
L Ferraris was spoken to regarding using the whip on a horse which was out of contention.
Horse No 4 LEGION OF MERIT (D419) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 FEARLESS FIRE (B085) L Hewitson Bumped at the start.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages was unable to hold a more forward position.
Horse No 7 G LINER (H072) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.
In the early stages raced keenly and refused to settle.
K C Leung was spoken to regarding using the whip on a horse which was out of contention.
Horse No 8 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) Z Purton Lay out near the 200 Metres before being corrected by its rider.
Then shifted in at the 150 Metres before being corrected.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 PROUD DRAGON (E352) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan stated that his mount was disappointing as it failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and he could offer no excuse for the performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 SURE JOYFUL (G125) M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 11 BIG TWO (E310) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped shortly after the start.
Was obliged to race wide and without cover until near the 1000 Metres when it was allowed to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground.
After the race, K De Melo reported that his mount lay in when placed under pressure and gave ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 FORTUNE PRESIDENT (G054) M Chadwick Slow to begin.

Fortune President quickened nicely to overhaul odds-on favourite Turin Warrior in the dying stages and register his third win. Matthew Chadwick rode him patiently fourth last on the fence, and he responded to post his second victory from seven starts over Happy Valley's 1,650m. Turin Warrior did everything right but get the win after racing prominently one off the rail and hitting the lead 250m out. He has a terrible case of seconditis. Specked late, Sure Joyful came on strongly down the outside to finish a close third after Matthew Poon Ming-fai rode him cold from gate 10. He has not disgraced himself in two Class Four races since his Class Five triumph first up. Fearless Fire ran on steadily for fourth. He is pretty honest over this course and distance. Perfetto came to win the race in the home straight but whacked on one-paced over the final 100m. Legion Of Merit came up flat after travelling on the fence forward of midfield. It was a similar run and result to his fresh outing last month. Free Foal travelled in the box seat but gave up after Atomic Beauty hampered him in the run to the line.
