Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (194) - HIGH ISLAND HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 BRAVE STAR (G268) L Hewitson Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 5 SUGAR SUGAR (G016) K H Chan Crowded on jumping.
Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of O'LINER when that runner shifted in.
Horse No 6 COLOURFUL EMPEROR (H167) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount dipped near the 900 Metres and became awkward in its action for a short distance after.
He said COLOURFUL EMPEROR did not travel well thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 NEVER TOO SOON (E434) K De Melo Crowded shortly after the start and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) L Currie Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 GIDDY UP (J020) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla stated that from his wide barrier he shifted GIDDY UP across behind runners in the early stages, but the horse raced keenly and ran wide on the first turn.
He added near the 700 Metres GIDDY UP shifted in abruptly when racing ungenerously and then once balanced up in the Home Straight ran on strongly under pressure.
Horse No 10 DENFIELD (G471) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 NABOO LEGEND (G357) K C Leung Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Never Too Soon responded to Keagan De Melo's patient ride, dashing well near the inside to hit the front 30m out and record back-to-back Happy Valley 1,200m wins this season. He will remain in this grade and another victory would not surprise. A Americ Te Specso came from near last for second. It was the last-start Class Four winner's best run in Class Three. Brave Star chased the speed three wide without cover from gate 10 and found a couple too good. He is a winner waiting to happen after placing in both of his races this term. O'Liner grudgingly gave way after getting his own way in front from the inside draw. It was better effort after disappointing last time out. Giddy Up came from last along the inside to finish a close fifth. It was a pleasing Hong Kong debut. Golden Artie ran on reasonably well from near the rear after enduring a wide trip. It was not a bad effort under a five-point penalty. Denfield had his chance but only plodded over the final 100m after racing prominently on the fence. He has failed to lift following his rise in grade. Sugar Sugar was short of room in the latter stages.
