Recap by phillip woo

Sensationally backed at the jump, Drombeg Banner kept up a strong gallop after turning the final bend two lengths on top after clearing to the lead 1,000m to make it back-toback wins over the 1,400m despite a rise in class. He'll remain in the grade and could get away with another. Find My Love ran on nicely to just grab second after a patient ride second last from the widest draw. It was good to see him bounce back after getting hampered and tossing his rider last time out. Dancing Code stayed on well for third after a wide trip without cover at times from midfield. It was another good effort in defeat. Beauty Live ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. It was a better effort third-up this term. Erimo made some ground near the inside to finish next best from behind midfield. He rarely produced a bad run over the 1,400m but does seem to be well held in this class. Favourite Alacrity made only a mild bid after making his run behind midfield and to the outside of Erimo. He's likely crying out for a longer trip. Ching picked off a few with one wider out after making his run at the rear of the field.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight : (202) - CHEVALIER CAR DEALERSHIP HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 FLAMING RABBIT (H257) E C W Wong When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that he was instructed to lead on his mount if possible, but not to engage in a speed battle with the other expected leader DROMBEG BANNER.

He said after riding his mount along in the early stages, he was able to hold an advantage over IMA SINGLE MAN, but near the 1200 Metres he relaxed on his mount as he felt that he would be able to cross IMA SINGLE MAN without having to continue to pressure his mount.

He added when IMA SINGLE MAN held its position to his inside and DROMBEG BANNER improved to his outside, he then allowed DROMBEG BANNER to cross his mount so that he did not have to unnecessarily pressure FLAMING RABBIT through that section of the race.

The Stewards advised Apprentice Wong that he had made an error of judgement in that near the 1200 Metres he did not continue to ride his mount forward which would have allowed FLAMING RABBIT to cross and lead on the rail in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 DANCING CODE (G365) C Y Ho Passing the 1100 Metres was attempted to be shifted behind SUPERB BOY to obtain cover, but became awkwardly placed on the heels of that runner and was then obliged to race wide and without cover thereafter.

Horse No 3 FIND MY LOVE (H110) M L Yeung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 ALACRITY (H210) Z Purton After travelling a short distance was crowded for room.

Near the 900 Metres was steadied away from DANCING CODE.

After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount was disadvantaged by the pace steadying in the middle stages and by having to make a wide run in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 BEAUTY LIVE (G057) K C Leung Crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 6 DROMBEG BANNER (H117) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 SUPREME LUCKY (G457) J McDonald Bumped shortly after the start.

After the race, J McDonald stated that whilst his mount was obliged to race three wide, it had cover behind DANCING CODE.

He said from the 600 Metres SUPREME LUCKY was under pressure and was disappointing in its failure to finish the race off.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance was considered to be disappointing as compared to its most recent starts.

Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME LUCKY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 10 CHING (G380) L Hewitson Crowded shortly after the start.

Horse No 11 SUPERB BOY (G335) L Ferraris Lay in in the Home Straight.

After the race, L Ferraris reported that his mount raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
