Son Pak Fu showed a good turn of foot to come from near last in the home straight and register his sixth win - all over the course and distance - from 17 starts. It was his second consecutive victory. Majestic Knight kept on gamely for second despite burning along in front from barrier two. It was another solid effort despite his rise in trip and class. Howdeepisyourlove did well to place after slamming on the brakes late. It was a good return to the races following his brilliant first campaign. Bundle Of Charm ran on steadily to fill the frame after his prominent run one off the fence. He could bob up at any moment after running well to fill the frame in three of his five starts this season. Punted late, Wonder Kit gradually faded after chasing the leader one off the rail. It was an OK effort in a higher grade following his last-start win. Nordic Dragon ran on from towards the rear without threatening the placegetters. He has failed to take his game to the next level this term. Seasons Wit faded after rushing forward to chase the speed. He faced a tough task carrying the top weight over a longer distance from the outside gate.

Race Eight : (212) - EILEAN CASTLE HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 SEASONS WIT (H223) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton stated that with his mount carrying top weight of 135 lbs and from the outside barrier stepping up to 1200 Metres for the first time, SEASONS WIT was unable to finish the race off, particularly with the fast pace set through the early and middle stages of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 REWARDING TOGETHER (D334) M F Poon Near the 1100 Metres was bumped.

Horse No 4 NORDIC DRAGON (G467) J McDonald Near the 250 Metres was hampered when taken out by GOKO WIN.

Horse No 5 SON PAK FU (G265) C L Chau Passing the 1100 Metres was bumped by GOKO WIN which shifted out and away from BUNDLE OF CHARM.

After the 200 Metres improved into a tight run between REWARDING TOGETHER and HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE.

Horse No 8 MAJESTIC KNIGHT (G258) Y L Chung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 GOKO WIN (H069) A Atzeni Bumped on the hindquarters passing the 1100 Metres.

Horse No 11 WONDER KIT (G455) L Hewitson Apprentice Y L Chung (MAJESTIC KNIGHT) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that over the concluding stages, whilst riding his mount out with the whip, he allowed his mount to shift out when not clear of HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE, resulting in HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE being checked away from the heels of MAJESTIC KNIGHT and being taken out and also resulting in WONDER KIT being checked when crowded between BUNDLE OF CHARM and HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE.

Taking into account his record, Apprentice Chung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Tuesday, 26 December 2023 and to expire on Tuesday, 2 January 2024 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays).

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade

In addition, in lieu of a fine and having regard to his inexperience as an apprentice, Apprentice Chung was directed to appear before the riding skills panel for remedial training under the provisions of Rule 12(46).

Horse No 12 POWER KOEPP (E301) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 10 REWARD SMILE (H256) A Badel Withdrawn on 27.11.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore).

Before being allowed to race again, REWARD SMILE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
