Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Global Harmony came from last after clearing traffic for a clear run 300m out to overhaul Sweet Encounter in deep stretch for a second win from his past four starts. Sweet Encounter did everything right but get the win after working to the lead 150m out following a patient ride three from the rear. He lived up to a placing last start over 1,800m despite a step back in distance. Punted late Lost Child ran on nicely for third after a patient ride from near the rear. It was a better effort at his second Class Three start following a win. Happy Daily stayed on well for fourth after getting impeded 250m out following a handy run. It was a better run. Flying Mojito came from near last to finish next best. It was one of his better runs this term. Kaholo Angel gave way over the last 100m after surging to the lead near the 300m following a wide with cover run settling midfield from gate 14. He had an excuse. Midori Burly ran on without threatening after getting held up for a run until the 250m from behind midfield. You can forgive Chiu Chow Spirit, who was badly held up for a run until the last 100m from midfield.

Horse No 1 CHIU CHOW SPIRIT (H175) A Badel Bumped at the start.

From the 400 Metres until the 100 Metres was badly held up for clear running.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Horse No 2 I AM THE BOSS (H446) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly and then was bumped heavily by SAVVY CHIC which shifted in.

Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of HAPPY DAILY when that runner was not improving and then was unable to obtain clear running until near the 350 Metres.

Horse No 3 SWEET ENCOUNTER (G426) A Atzeni Leaving the 800 Metres was steadied away from MAJESTIC SPEED and then raced wide and without cover thereafter.

Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight and near the 250 Metres was corrected by its rider A Atzeni.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 GLOBAL HARMONY (G337) J McDonald Slow to begin.

From the 400 Metres to the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) K Teetan Bumped at the start.

Horse No 7 FLYING MOJITO (G412) L Ferraris Slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 8 MAJESTIC SPEED (J018) M F Poon A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

Horse No 9 MIDORI BURLY (J083) Z Purton After the 400 Metres became held up for clear running behind SAVVY CHIC which was giving ground and did not obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres.

After the race, Z Purton reported that his mount was not suited by the middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 LOST CHILD (G461) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Lay in and away from SWEET ENCOUNTER near the 250 Metres.

Horse No 12 SAVVY CHIC (G261) K De Melo Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

Near the 300 Metres, when hanging in, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KAHOLO ANGEL which shifted in slightly.

Continued to hang in for the remainder of the event when giving ground and proved difficult to ride out.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 HAPPY DAILY (E294) A Hamelin Near the 250 Metres LOST CHILD shifted in and away from SWEET ENCOUNTER when taken in by SWEET ENCOUNTER (A Atzeni), resulting in HAPPY DAILY having to be steadied when crowded for room.

Whilst the Stewards accepted that A Atzeni had made some effort to straighten his mount, he was advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to react sooner than he did on this occasion.
