Race Eight : (322) - KWAI SHING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 LIGHTNING BOLT (G130) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 2 LUCKY EIGHT (G204) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the winning post was steadied away from SELF IMPROVEMENT which shifted out and away from CALL ME DANDY.
Horse No 3 TORONADO PHANTOM (E300) A Atzeni A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 CAPITAL DELIGHT (H262) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 CALL ME DANDY (G469) Y L Chung After the 500 Metres shifted to the outside of GOOD BUDDY to improve and made contact with SELF IMPROVEMENT.
Near the 300 Metres became unbalanced when crowded for room between SELF IMPROVEMENT and MONTA FRUTTA (M Chadwick) which shifted to the outside of GOOD BUDDY to obtain clear running.
M Chadwick was reprimanded.
Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.
Before being allowed to race again, CALL ME DANDY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 WINGS OF WAR (H162) B Avdulla Made contact with a rail whilst parading behind the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said after the necessary consultations the horse was suitable to race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 GOOD BUDDY (E097) A Badel A Badel was fined the sum of $7,500 for using the whip on numerous occasions forward of the saddle in the Home Straight.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 MARK THE MOMENT (H088) L Hewitson Between the 250 Metres and the 100 Metres raced tight to the inside of GOOD BUDDY.
Horse No 10 MIGHTY ARMOUR (H071) H T Mo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 12 THE GREAT MASTER (H457) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly.
After the race, M F Poon reported that his mount, when caught wide in the early stages, lay out on the first turn and remained racing wide and without cover thereafter.
The performance of THE GREAT MASTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, THE GREAT MASTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Capital Delight produced a perfectly timed run widest out to collar Good Buddy after patient ride third last for a second win this season at his first start on the surface. He'll remain in the grade and can score again. Good Buddy gave a cheeky sight after poking his head in front 200m out following a wide trip until the slotting one off 650m chasing the speed from gate nine. The move to blinkers nearly worked the oracle. Mark The Moment grudgingly gave way after clearing to the lead from gate 12. He's naturally returning to form in his three runs for his new trainer this term. Monta Frutta ran on well to finish a close fourth after a rail run from midfield. It was a much better run with a switch to the dirt. Lighting Bolt made ground late near the inside settling three from the rear. He needs to play the ratings game after two early season wins at the Valley. Favourite Call Me Dandy just plodded after copping sharp bump 250m out following a box seat run. He had a slight excuse. Self Improvement just came up one paced after a handy run one off the fence. It was a below par effort on return to his favourite dirt surface.
