Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (331) - CLEVELAND HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Horse No 2 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) K H Chan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the race, K H Chan reported that AWESOME FLUKE raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and finished the race off only fairly after making a wide run from the 600 Metres.
Horse No 4 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) H Bowman Slow to begin.
Near the 1300 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid LEAN HERO.
Over the concluding stages was positioned close to the heels of MAJESTIC VICTORY which shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 LEAN HERO (G402) K C Leung Near the 1400 Metres was steadied away from MAJESTIC VICTORY.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 INTREPID WINNER (G144) K De Melo Jumped only fairly.
After the race, K De Melo stated that with his mount coming back in distance to 1800 Metres tonight and due to the early stages of the event being run outside of standard, INTREPID WINNER was one-paced when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 PRIME MINISTER (D288) M F Poon Bumped shortly after the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 GALLANT HERO (E480) K Teetan Shortly after the start raced tight to the inside of EIGHTEEN PALMS and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No S J TOURBILLON (G138) H Bentley Withdrawn on 8.1.24 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter PRIME MINISTER.
Before being allowed to race again, S J TOURBILLON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Following a patient ride in third last, Prime Minister weaved a run near the inside to get up in the final few strides in a three-way go. It was his fourth career win and first from three starts over the Valley's 1,800m. He appreciated the rise in trip after going all right in a few of his six starts this term. Lean Hero ran on nicely along the inside from midfield to just miss by a head bob. He enjoys his racing at the Valley. Long-time leader Splendid Living gave a cheeky sight after slipping clear by three lengths 1,200m out. It was a good effort trying the Valley's 1,800m for the first time. Majestic Victory finished fourth after getting all favours in the box seat. He's still paying the price for a first-up win when he was penalised eight points. Turin Mascot got going in the closing stages to finish next best after a patient ride in fourth last. He's better suited over 2,200m. Eighteen Palms weakened over the last 100m after a speed-chasing run. He didn't handle the rise in trip. Favourite Escape Route made some ground without threatening from behind midfield on the fence.
