Recap by phillip woo

Happy Trio took control near the 100m after a rails run better than midfield for a second win from his past four starts. He's in great form but will need to lift in Class Three next time out. Ernest Feeling ran on nicely along the inside to just edge Super Eagle for second after settling last from gate 11. It was another solid effort. Super Eagle just failed to grab second after a one-off trip in midfield. He keeps racing well without winning. Kilindini just plodded after getting every chance chasing the leading pair with cover. He's limited. Melbourne Hall ran on steadily for fifth after a rails run in midfield. It was his best run from four starts this term. After copping a bump 100m out, favourite Beauty Infinity finished next best but never looked a winning chance after a patient ride two from the rear. It's still early days and he did have to carry more weight following a second-up win. Golden Luck came up flat over the last 100m after a prominent run wide without cover from gate 12. Scotch Tycoon was stopping 100m out after reclaiming the lead from Colonel 500m out. He hasn't been able to menace carrying top weight.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (348) - CLUB HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 2 BEAUTY INFINITY (H377) A Atzeni Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.

Raced keenly in the middle stages.

For some distance near the 800 Metres was steadied away from SUPER EAGLE.

Near the 100 Metres was bumped by GOLDEN LUCK which shifted out and as a result BEAUTY INFINITY became unbalanced.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 HAPPY TRIO (G244) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 ERNEST FEELING (E209) A Hamelin From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When questioned, A Hamelin stated that from a wide barrier he was not given any specific instructions other than to avoid racing wide.

He said after commencing fairly, he elected to shift ERNEST FEELING across behind runners in the early stages to comply with his instructions.

He added after settling towards the rear of the field, ERNEST FEELING did not travel strongly and as a result he was obliged to ride his mount along throughout the early and middle stages to maintain his position at the tail of the field which he attributed to the stronger pace set in tonight's race as compared to its most previous start when it was able to lead from the inside barrier.

He further stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight ERNEST FEELING responded well to his riding and finished the race off strongly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 GOLDEN LUCK (H159) K C Leung Near the 200 Metres raced tight between SUPER EAGLE and KILINDINI which shifted out.

Bumped near the 100 Metres and became unbalanced.

Horse No 7 LUCKY QUALITY (D050) K H Chan Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 PODIUM (H173) K De Melo Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Near the 100 Metres was directed to the outside of COLONEL to secure clear running.

Horse No 9 MELBOURNE HALL (D118) Y L Chung Bumped shortly after the start.

Horse No 10 SUPER EAGLE (G408) Z Purton When questioned regarding his riding out over the concluding stages, Z Purton stated that after improving to the outside of KILINDINI near the 200 Metres, SUPER EAGLE commenced to lay in and as a result he was obliged to correct his mount by applying pressure to his left rein.

He added that SUPER EAGLE continued to lay in which restricted his ability to fully ride his mount out to the finish of the event although he was able to continue to ride hands and heels.

Horse No 11 COLONEL (D090) H T Mo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 ALLOY KING (D287) M F Poon Withdrawn by order of the Stewards on raceday morning (see General).
