Champion Instinct took control 150m out after a one-out, one-back run for a first win at his 12th start. The win was forthcoming after placing in three of four prior starts. Patch Of Theta ran on nicely to finish a clear-cut second after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen with placings in each of his three starts but likely wants a 1,400m trip. Super Legends got going late near the inside for third after making his run four back on the fence. It was another honest effort. Lightly raced New Power closed well with one wider out for fourth after making his run five back and one off the fence. He's run well in each of his three Sha Tin runs. Happy Fat Cat gradually faded after finding the front from gate eight. It was a better effort on return to Sha Tin 1,200 with the claim well utilised. Early favourite Telecom Dragon ran on without threatening travelling three from the rear. He was further back than normal. Ruby Sailing was disappointing after a box seat run. He continues to be a headache for punters. More Rice will sleep well after getting posted wide without cover better than midfield.
